Mears?

quick question. and i need to know how certain your answer is too. i am going to disney world next week. im meeting some friends down there. now, for my reasons, i am not taking the magical express. however, ive been told that i can go to the mears desk and buy a ticket, and quite often they'll just put me on a magical express bus. is this true? since mears actually runs DME, do they themselves still make trips to the disney resort? will i be able to get a mears bus to old key west or will i be stuck taking a cab? thanks!

Yes Mears will get you to OKW if you need them to. They may put you on ME or they may put you on a smaller Van type transport.
But I do have to ask why would you pay when you could get their for free.

There are many reasons someone may not be eligable for DME even though at a WDW resort...they may not be listed on a reservation, they may just be visiting for a day..whatever.
Yes, you can head to Mears at MCO and get a ride to OKW. And you may be on a DME bus or as already said, on a different type vehicle. But you can get there for a fee.

I don't think it is a for sure thing that you will get put on a DME bus. Mears can put you in their shuttle vans, I am told by the person in charge of operations that they still deliver to the resorts. If the DME is a reservation only deal, than Mears shuttle would not be in competition because they would only serve those who did not pick up a reservation. Anyway sometimes these high-up officers don't know anything about what is really happening on the ground.

If you buy a ticket to Mears shuttle, the present consensuss, you will get placed in a DME bus, Mears shuttle van or a Mears taxi hired by the shuttle to take you to the resort.
