Mears vs Towncars

I am trying to convince my mom on the idea of a towncar from the airport when we arrive on the 16th, but she can't conceive the idea of why it would be cheaper than Mears. She said if it were that much cheaper, that everyone would be using them instead of Mears from the airport. Please tell me (so I can tell her) why. I have already reserved Your Ride, but I would like to just shut her up for once. LOL!

tell her it's worth the extra money, as you're not squished into a van and you're not touring the state of florida trying to get to your hotel. You may be the first stop,, you may be the last.. it may take 1/2 hour to get to your hotel, it may take hours.

We're going with Yourride at the end of this month, mostly the reasons are; I don't want to go in the cattle van and I want to stop at the grocery store real quick and be to my hotel all in the same day.

For me and my hubby, the only reason we ever used Mears was plain ol' ignorance!! As soon as we learned about towncars from the internet, we made the switch (our first trips were in the days before wonderful resources like DIS). Mears was okay, but I hate being herded like cattle and making multiple stops. Now we always use Happy Limo, and I would never go back to a shuttle. I think more people would definitely use towncars if they realized that it's cheaper than a shuttle or more than two people (and in my view, it's worth it for two just for the convenience). I think it's a matter of not comparing, but with message boards you can find out the "secrets."

Most people use Mears because they don't know there is another alternative. Especially since a Mears coupon comes with the ressies.

Plus tell your mom that a nice person should be there to help with the luggage.
And point out how much you paid for each night at the hotel. If you're already paying for the hotel why wait at the airport when you could have a nice air conditioned car for $10 more?
I think for two it's the most practical option (think about the time and effort you save!) and it can also be deemed a special treat.

A town car will pick only your party up at the airport and return. More comferable and if you have more than 2 people cheaper. Mears will squeeze 11 people in their van and if each one is going to a different hotel just hope your hotel is first.

I was on a Disney Bus, and a man and woman got on. They explained it just took them almost 2 hours to get to their hotel from the Airport using the Mears bus. They said it stopped at so many hotels, and they had to wait for the luggage to be taken off, etc. They were wiped out and needed a drink. they said NEVER again! Just an FYI.
