Mears versus a taxi?

I keep seeing people talking about "Mears", which I assume is something you arrange ahead of time to pick you up at the airport and drop you off at your hotel.

What's the advantage of this over just grabbing a taxi from in front of the airport?

I'm curious to know what our best option would be for travel. Here's our particulars:

2 adults, 2 teenagers
2 suitcases, 4 carry-ons (ie, backpack, purse, tote)
Staying: Royal Pacific Resort
Arriivng: Very late in the evening, December 11.

I arrived very late at night last year. Mears is per person, so the fact that it's cheaper wouldn't be a problem to you. If you get a Mears late at night, you'll probably have to wait a while for a shuttle, whereas you can just hop in a cab.

So you mean we'd end up paying just as much for Mears - because there's 4 of us - as we'd pay for a cab? And it'd be less convenient?

Exactly. I think Mears is $12ish each (plus what you'd tip per bag), and a cab with tip is under $50.
