Mears Transportation?

I know I've read some reviews about really bad service through Mears - but then not all the reviews for the towncar services are glowing either.
We can book the shuttle bus for $48.00 RT for two of us vs. $80.00- $90.00 for limo service. (Universal hotels) I know that may mean extra hotel stops - has anyone done this with positive results?
Also, they have service RT from Universal to Disney for $26.00 I'm trying to decide whether to pre-book this or just try to get a cab. Any input would be welcome.

We have used Mears many times. In fact the one and only time we booked a towncar we were stood up, because they got a better fare(long story ) Anyways, we have always been ok with Mears. All but one trip has been in a van, the one trip was in a large bus. Yes you do stop other places but in a van it holds about 10-12 passengers and so it depends on how many parties there are. We have had drivers who were polite and helped with the luggage and never said another word and there have been drivers who like to talk. My biggest gripe is with other passengers. Some of them have been loud and obnoxious, oblivious to the fact there are others who may not want to share their loudness. The drivers themselves have always been fine.
