Has anyone ever used Mears attraction transportation shuttles to get to the Disney parks? Whats the earliest time they pick up in the morning and latest time they pick up at night?

Thanks! :)

We have used Mears in the past and they were reliable - they will pick you up when you want:thumbsup2

Hi Simon,
When we stayed at the Quality Inn(back in 2003)We used Mears,as there was no shuttles to WDW from this hotel. We had to book them the day before and give a time that we would like to be picked up.When we were ready to leave the park we rang them up and said we were ready +they normally said roughly what time they will be there-usually it was about an hour. This was always with a shuttle-we never had a taxi sent to us.Also you may be sharing a shuttle, because if a hotel say down the road had guests who were leaving the same time as you they would also pick them up.The price back in2003 was $12 each round trip.I don't know how much for a child as this was when we went for our belated honeymoon, but i am pretty sure the price is box standard no matter how old you are.Hope i have been of some help.x.

Sorry forgot to say,,,,,,,we would normally get them to pick us up about 7-30am,and collect us about 8/9ish in the evening.x.

Thanks Michelle, what times did you get the shuttle in the morniing? And also did you leave the Disney parks quite late at night? Im hoping they are quite flexable and can pick up quite late.

I would never use mears again - I know it's only one bad experience but they failed to pick us up at MCO, our plane was a bit late landing and so mears cancelled our towncar!
We had to find our way to the desk downstairs and it took another hour to get a car to come and get us - not impressed and still NO apology.
Four shuttle vans came and went that were going to I drive - I would have happily got on one of them. but no, every time we asked "it's on it's way" ( yes, but from where?).

would never use them again same story never turned up to take me back from bells outlet if their is more than 3 of you its just as cheep to get a taxi and much more convenient they will pick up other people so a trip could take an hour longer we went to universal from pop and it stopped at two other hotels and then at sea world so missed rope drop not worth the hastle time is worth a lot of money when in florida:)

Do you mean the shuttle or taxi service? The shuttles must run to a schedule?

Hi Simon, we have used them for our last two visits for travel between Disney and Universal, Seaworld and DC. Whilst not published they run to a schedule which is usually hourly fron the Disney hotels and likewise for the return.

As mentioned previously you phone a hour or so before you want to return from, say, SW and they giv you a time for pickup, which fits thier schedule and space.

We have probaly used them for 5-6 return trips and all but one was fine. On one occasion they failed to turn up at POR. The manager of the POR porter services phoned and gave them a hard time and they sent a cab.

Whether taxi or shuttle, Mears pretty much run the show in the area for such transport. There are much more expensive personal towncar services run by non mears.

We used a Mears Cab (van) for transfer to MCO last year booked for us....first he tried to hang on for others until I asked the bell staff about it being booked for us, then the driver said he would now depart. Not long after he turned off the meter and also took a call saying the fare didnlt turn up....think was just a driver on the take rather than Mears themselves.

I would say given the huge number of trips and drivers etc they fair reasonable well.

Twice we have had them not turn up to take us to the airport, the last time was at 6am, so you can imagine how difficult it was to get a replacement- Mears didnt answer the phone so the hotel reception called another cab place-and it was $20 cheaper! Not good having to worry about missing your flight with 5 tired kids! If you are just using them for the parks I suppose it doesnt matter so much, but maybe ask at the Hotel reception who they reccomend. The town cars outside are usually good, and the drivers will give you their cell phone number to ring them when you are ready to leave. At least then you wont be left if you are a minute or two late

I used the shuttle several times when I owned a villa at Glenbrook - never again.Problems with return journey. If there are too many people to fit on,they let first on and adont send another for remaining passengers - this is true as it happened to us.Returns from park were always late. This was a couple of years ago - maybe theyve improved,
Lynn
