MEARS - Stay away from it !

pietnoeck we booked with Murry Hill a while back, so it's great to hear you had a good experience with them!!

We have been planning on using Mears to get to Universal, IOA and Discovery Cove as we don't want to waste a minute and want to get there at opening. I really hope we don't encounter any problems! I would love to take the busses, would love to save the money but I'm guessing we would have to get such an early start!

Our trip this last week, my son had to use Mears when we sent him home during the week for school. (He is 17)

He got lucky on the trip to the airport. The van pulled up at AKL and a group of 10 got on the van for the airport with lots of luggage. There would not have been room for anymore, and the van he was supposed to be on, was due in 20 minutes, but he was just one person with no luggage, and they allowed him on that van and they went straight to the airport. Of course, it was way early, as Mears always does, but he said he had fun at the airport wandering around the stores, and ate at Burger King.

When he returned to WDW, his plane landed at 8:25 pm and having no luggage once again, he went straight to the Mears desk. It took them about 10 minutes to fill up the van and they dropped him off at the Beach Club where we were having dinner about 9:45 after two off-site stops.

So for $26 with the coupon, Mears was a bargain in that instance.
(FYI, when we landed at MCO on Friday, even though we were using a towncar, I walked to the Mears desk and was able to purchase him a roundtrip ticket using the coupon.) Mears doesn't care which resort you are dropped off at or picked up at as long as it is on Disney property.

If we had not bought it in advance at the airport, we would have had to buy two one-ways, cash only with no discount.
