The round trip for the WDW area costs around $30. No reservations are taken for trips to Disney's resorts but walk up tickets are sold.

I actually meant the trip from WDW to Universal Studios.
My husband called Mears and they told us the trip from ASMo to Universal Studios is $16 pp round trip, which is a great deal.

She also said they have p/u every hour starting at 7am (Park opens at 9am in Jan) and p/u back to the resorts every 15 past the hour from 3:15pm to 2am (Citywalk stays open late)

That is defintely the way we will be going between WDW & Universal.

FALSE, it is $16 per person RT, 3 yr and under are free.

Just curious where you obtained that info for attraction transportation.

Thinking about taking nephews to Universal in August...staying at AKL and wonder if Mears picks you up at your resort? I have never been to Universal and this is the first trip for all of them and I know they would like it there too...thanks for any info!

Mears Shuttle picks up at any WDW resort based on reservations. You MUST call the day before to 407 423-5566 to make your reservation. Currently, there are 3 possible times each morning. They will give you current rates and pickup times. Aug. is a long way off. The $16 is today's rate and could change by then.

If you are a paying family of 4 the shuttle price, round trip, would run you $64.00. The $16.00 round trip is a per person rate. The taxis stationed on the site would be able to pick you up whatever time you desired, take you directly to Universal and than bring you back to the resort at whatever time you desired. The taxis vans hold up to 7 passengers at a price of about $35.00 each way.

Taxiing is much easier and directly back and forth to Universal, no extra drop-off or pick-ups while you are riding. You would still have to pay the approximately $35.00 with one, two or three passengers. The time to Universal would be 25 minutes in a taxi compared to a possible 35 to 60 minutes in a shuttle, depending on where they have to pick-up or drop-off other passengers.

You don't have to call ahead and reserve either way, just walk out and pick up the taxi.

(Did ME introduce economies of scale making possible a reduced regular Mears fare to nearby non-ME-participating resorts such as Bonnet Creek and Swan?)

It seems that you are talking MCO to Disney. This guest is asking about Disney to off-site attractions such as Universal or Sea World.
