I think I have everything figured out, I just wanted to make sure...

My biggest concern is the transport from our Disney resort (All Star Movies) to Wizard World of Harry Potter. It's just going to be the one day. We're planning on taking a Mears shuttle, and as I've been reading, it seems you call them 24hrs in advance and let them know your travel plans, then they pick you up at your hotel and take you to US. Is that right? Where in US do they take you exactly? Is there a special gate for the IoA?? I also read somewhere that if you don't get there right at park opening (which we were planning on doing, but you never know, something could go wrong!) then you could be denied access and charged some kind of late entry fee? That doesn't sound right to me, but I really don't know anything about US! :confused3

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank You!

I have used the Mears shuttle from WDW to US/IoA many times. It's incredibly easy. Call them the day before you want to go to IoA. They will give you some available times for pickup. I have been picked up at 7:30, which gave me plenty of time to get to US/IoA, get checked into my US resort, and then over to the gate about 10 mins before park opening.
Since you don't need to get to a resort, I would have them pick you up around 8am. That will get you to the IoA gate in plenty of time.
The bus will drop you in the main shuttle area. Get off the bus, walk to the escalator and go up. Turn left, and you'll be walking towards CityWalk. Go straight on through and you're at IoA. Takes about 10 mins to walk it...depending on pace.

I have never heard of anyone being denied entry due to arriving late. You will be fine. You can either set up a departure time when you book the ride to US/IoA, or you can call them about 2 or so hours before you are ready to leave and they'll tell you what time the bus/shuttle is leaving.

Possibly what OP is referring to is that WWoHP fills up to capacity and you can't get in. When we were at IoA last spring break, they handed out passes that allowed you to get in at a later time, but once they were gone, you were out of luck. I believe the only other people that got in were the people who had the "skip the line pass", which basically doubles the price of your park ticket......
