Looking to hear experiences of those who have recently returned from Disney World using Mears to MCO. I've heard there might be issues right now but those are third-hand accounts. Looking for firsthand experience before I figure out how I plan to get back to MCO.

The last time I had Mears booked for a return trip from POFQ to MCO in May this year, the bus didn't show up. I called Mears and they sent a taxi for me--no extra charge--but if I hadn't called them, I don't know what would've happened.

That being said, the main negative of booking Mears back to MCO is that they pick you up at the very minimum 3 or 3.5 hours before your flight time. I consider 2.5 hours to be ample and even 2 hours is okay for me since I have precheck. Nevertheless, the price is good, especially for one or two people. And that is the only negative experience I've ever had with Mears.

Thank you! I've mostly had ok experiences with them (one notable exception just like yours).

I've heard some people who usually use Mears are not going that route right now with the flight reductions and TSA lines, feeling there might not be sufficient time to get through security and make your flight. Especially if there's a scenario like you had, I can see how it might put return travel at risk. Wondering how prevalent that is as part of my "book Mears back to MCO" risk calculations.

The last time we used Mears was for a Universal trip. They didn't show up for our return trip to MCO, and no one answered when I called them frantically trying to figure out what to do. Fortunately, our hotel had a van that was able to accommodate us, and they got us to the airport in time. I've used Mears faithfully for many years but will never use them again. They eventually called me and apologized for their oversight, but there are so many other options that we won't risk using them in the future.

Wow. That is not unlike my experience, although I was able to get them on the phone. Also, I called after waiting maybe 10 minutes past the expected arrival time for the bus--I have no patience--so that may've helped. But I guess they're going to have to do this again before I give up on them for the return trip. I almost always use them for the trip from MCO to my resort.

Last week our return to MCO was a mess. Our driver was 25 minutes late and when he showed up, no explanation. DH was just finishing up a Lyft reservation when he showed. Added a lot of stress with the TSA/flight issues going on now.

ETA: I completed the survey after and was told someone would be in touch…..crickets.

We took them in late Aug and had no problems at all. Flight was 8PM in evening and we were picked up about 3 hours before flight time. Bus arrived a couple of minutes before scheduled pickup time.

It's been hit or miss. When staying at DVC resorts, it seems like they always send a van with an old musty smell that's not very comfortable. Also on my most recent experience, I almost missed the van because neither the driver nor the text updates told me the van was arriving early. I still use it for arrival day if I don't have a park ticket, but I think an Uber is worth the upcharge for returning to the airport.

^^^This. I almost always take Mears to my resort but take it back to MCO only sometimes.

I took Mears the beginning of November and was not impressed. A bus arrived about a half hour prior to my pick up time and sat in the hotel parking lot. Near my pick up time the bus left. Yep, just left the hotel. I waited until another bus arrived fortunately it was only a few minutes late. Picked us up then went to the next stop. That hotel entrance was closed so we drove around property for ten minutes finally going to another entrance. Still another stop before heading to airport. I was on the bus over an hour and got to MCO about 2 1/2 hours before my plane took off.

Next trip I'll take a ride share. Although Mears was much cheaper it wasn't worth the frustration.
