Mears questions

I booked the FTP for October, and at the time, I didn't know any better, so I told the agent to just put us on Mears. I called them back today to see if I could cancel that part of the package, and it would cost $50. It's only my DH and I, and the total Mears was only $56.

I'd like to know how long I should expect it to take to get from the airport, to the ASMu, at 1 pm on a Sunday in October.I know that the times vary a lot depending on how many stops they have.

So, here's my questions:

How long should I expect it to take to get from the airport to the hotel?

and

Does anyone know of a way I could cancel the shuttle service (maybe through Mears direct?), so I could schedule a towncar?

Ideas?

As far as wait times go, there does not seem to be any pattern. Waits average about 1/2 hour, but if your flight arrives along with many others, it can be a long wait just waiting in line to purchase your tickets. Our longest wait time has been 1 hour, but that was on a holiday weekend, so it was not completely unexpected.

We've used Mears for many years, but have recently switched over to Tiffany Towncars. For the four of us, the price was actually lower and it was a real treat not to have to stop at several hotels along the way.

Our reason behind switching was that on our last trip, someone took my mom's suitcase instead of their own (both were black, but I always look for the name tag) and the driver had to double-back out of the airport and track down the guy at another terminal. My mom is a senior and she was upset and we almost ended up missing our flight. Admittedly, all the blame cannot be placed on Mears, but it was an upsetting experience. I saw the towncar as the best way to ensure this doesn't occur again.

Okay, somewhat different question about Mears:

If I already have the reservation already made for Mears, approximately how long does it take to get from baggage claim, to the ASMu resort?

How long has everyone had to wait and drive around in the shuttle until they were dropped off?
