Mears or towncar for one-way trip

We will be renting a van for one day when we arrive in Orlando so that we can drive to Cocoa Beach so we will only need transporation to the airport when we leave. I'm not sure that a towncar is very cost effective for a one-way trip but I also have read very negative feedback about Mears.

There will be myself, my mother and my 2 dd's travelling and I should add that dd and I both get car sick when we ride in the backseat of a car. I suppose we could reserve a van, but that's about $50! What would you do?

Actually, for four people, a towncar will be less expensive than the Mears shuttle (unless one of the DD are 3 or under), and you will also have more control over the time you are picked up. However, if you and DD get sick riding in a backseat, I'd just go with Mears - they will either send a van or even more likely, a bus. Saving a few dollars isn't worth getting sick, IMHO! On the other hand, it is possible that the towncar driver will let you and DD sit in front with him. Some of the front seats would only have room for one of you, though.

Yes, there are complaints about Mears, but there are also complaints about the towncar services.

Expect to pay $45-$50 (including a generous tip for the driver) for a one way trip in a towncar. Mears charges $16 for adults and $12 for children 3 -11. If you can get a van for $50 or less (including taxes, surcharges and gas) that would be the way to go!

Thanks for the input!! Decisions, decisions! Actually I got on Cartier's website and I can get a van for $55 minus $5 if I bood on-line, so I might go that route!!
