I am going to WDW without my family,( I'm going down to stay with a friend who is attending a conference), and this will be the first time I haven't rented a car.
Is Mears so bad that I should take a Towncar, or is the extra expense crazy to consider? I've heard Mears is $25/person, is this correct?

I've used Mears many times and never had a problem. If you don't mind spending $80 for a towncar, go for it. It'll take you directly to your hotel.

Mears, on the other hand, transports more people at one time to their hotels which means its more time consuming, but it's only $28 rt. (sometimes Disney mails a $3 off coupon with your confirmation).

Good luck with your choice!!!

I too will be traveling solo (in December) and don't know whether to book Mears or a towncar. My flight arrives at 12:45pm, so if I selected Mears, about how long would it take to reach my resort (either WL or CBR)? The $28 sounds better, but not if its going to waste half my afternoon when I could be doing something at Disney!

For 1 person, I would save the money with Mears. It may take you a little longer to get to your resort, but unless you have something important planned on your arrival day, I would save the money.

They will try to pick you up very early for the return. I used them on a one way from POFQ in February (caught a ride with friends on the way in). Our flight was 5:00pm, they wanted to pick us up at 1:20! I don't think so! The next one was 1:50, that sounded better. It was a little late and stopped at OKW also. We were at the airport by 3:00, plenty of time.

Is it necessary to make reservations with Mears Shuttle, or do you just show up at the airport to catch a ride to WDW?

No need to make a ressie for Mears. Just go to the ground transportation level and pay the fee.

I used Mears in February to go to CBR. Yes, it did take a while to get to the resort (one of the last stops on the trip) but I saved a ton of money.

Thanks for the info.

Now, another question. My flight leaves at 12:45pm, and Iprobably need to be there 2 hours before, so should I take Mears Shuttle back? I imagine they make several stops on the way to the airport, and I don't want to leave at the crack of dawn to get there by 10:00 or 10:30 a.m. Would a taxi the one way be better? Thanks
