Mears Connect price increase

I took Mears from MCO to POFQ two weeks ago. It was $16 + tax, so $17 and change, iirc.

I just went to the Mears site for my May trip and the price is now $20.90 from airport to resort and $19 resort to airport = $39.90 round trip. I believe this is a price increase.

It's still a good price, just different from what I was expecting.

I booked my last 2 Mears Connect rides while I was at the airport. It's easy to do at the last minute for the trip to the resort. But I decided to do a round trip this time.

I just booked my May trip but I haven't received a confirmation email from them. Hmmm.

I just booked my May trip but I haven't received a confirmation email from them. Hmmm.

Did you get a confirmation number? I took a screen shot of my confirmation number just in case.

I clicked the screen where you pay for everything and it seemed to do what it should do, then it returned me to the main screen. There was no confirmation number on the website and I haven't received an email. I wrote to them and got an autoreply that they're experiencing a high volume of inquiries and would respond within 48 hours.

I just checked my cc and the purchase isn't pending so perhaps it didn't go through. Pending purchases usually show up immediately.

I'll report back when I find out what's what. It's not like it's urgent. The trip's not until May, so I don't mind waiting for their response--or I wouldn't if I weren't an impatient person!

The confirmation screen said "Your confirmation number is ______ and you can log in anytime to edit your reservation details. You will receive an email confirmation with all these details as well..." Sounds like you have lots of time to get it sorted out!

I didn't have a confirmation screen--or at least I didn't see one. So perhaps the purchase didn't go through. I promise to report back!

Almost a 20% increase. I paid $33.60 x 2 on 3/14 for our October trip.

Sunshine Flyer has a promo for $12 per person, each way for trips through the end of May. Used them for a quick a weekend trip for the Tron preview, boarded a bus along with one other family and got to Wilderness Lodge in about 20 minutes! (Saturday morning arrival)

The last I checked, Sunshine Flyer doesn't stop at Terminal C.

Also, update on Mears: Apparently my reservation didn't go through. They telephoned me--they must have my number from previous bookings--and let me know. So I'll reschedule later today.

Interesting. Sunshine Flyer's price is decreasing (sales, special offers) while Mears is increasing. I've only used Mears and have been very satisfied but I'll take a closer look at SF next time. Money matters!

SF IS running a special currently, but shortly before the special, there was chatter on the boards that they had a price increase. And both are charging the additional (% based) fee on rides from the airport.

I did reschedule and everything went through. I have my email confirmations, etc. Not sure why the first try didn't work, but the 2nd try did.

That's terrific. I'm wondering if I should cancel and rebook, since I'd save almost $10. I paid $19 one way and $20.90 the other--one of them has some kind of airport surcharge.

I would! Mears is calling it a "Spring Sale" but I priced a trip in October and the sale price is still good so I guess as long as you book in the Spring you get the sale price. I've never used SF, always Mears and have never had an issue.

I sent them an email and asked if they could adjust the price I already paid or if I had to cancel and rebook. I shall report back when they contact me.

Update: Mears wrote back to me, reissued the invoices with the new reduced rate, and the credit for the difference is already showing up on my credit card. Now, that's service!
