Mears at midnight???

I'm flying in to MCO late on a Friday night, like at 11:45p. Am I safe by myself taking Mears to POFQ? Do you think it would be crowded, long waits, many resort drop-offs, etc.? I don't want to get to my resort too late and end up waking up the rest of my party.
BTW, I've never taken Mears, so any information will be helpful! Thanks!

My sister recently arrived at MCO around midnight. She said she was lucky to find someone to sell her the Mears vouchers as the Mears counter was closed. The lady suggested she should pre-purchase online the next time. Once outside the terminal, the Mears counter (podium) is staffed and vans are running.

The way luggage has been at MCO lately, you still won't get to PO before 1:00am. That's if the shuttle is ready to leave as soon as you are, That time of night they often wait for more riders to show--my freinds had to wait almost 40 minutes a few weeks ago.

If you are getting in that late and know you want to go directly to your hotel, it might be worth the extra $25 to you to get a towncar to take you one way to the resort. You can always take Mears home to save money. That way you know someone would be waiting for you when you get there and you can leave as soon as your luggage arrives.

Not sure if the extra money would be worth it to you. If I have been working and travelling all day, the last thing I want to do is have to wait for other planes to come in so that I can get started to going to my hotel.

I would agree that MEARS may not be the best option for that time of night. 2 trips ago, we got in around 2am (don't ask...) from Chicago and thought MEARS would be a sure bet. Boy were we wrong. It was a nightmare. We finally boarded almost an hour later.

Get a service that will be waiting for you when you arrive so that you can hop right in. It is a bit creepy to be in an airport that's somewhat deserted. the extra $$ is worth it.

Can you purchase towncar service one-way? I have friends who will need transportation only from MCO to All-Star Sports. Others will be joining them later that will have a car to get them back to the airport.

hmm, I might pay the extra and get the towncar if I can get it one-way. I'm riding back to Louisiana with the party I am meeting up with.
One other thing, how much is a cab from MCO to POFQ?

We had great service from Mears late at night a couple of years ago. Our plane arrived about 11:30 pm. We had a one way rental car reserved because originally we were supposed to be offsite the first night, but at the last minute, I was able to add that first night to our All-Stars reservations.

We were both too tired to fool with driving ourselves, so we walked out to the Mears station, payed the driver our money, and got straight on a van. One more party showed up and off we went. No problem at all.

In January, I got to the Mears kiosk about 10:30PM for a 5:30 PM reservation (long story), waited a while (25 min.) for a van with a lift to get back from its run and, when it did, left immediately for a solo run to the Vistana Resorts. No muss, no fuss. During my wait for the lift van several regular vans came and went with only a five minute or so wait for other passengers... Had a nice time talking to the dispatcher and the security patrol after a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE flight on A Airlines.

hey all,
my dilemna has been solved! A relative of mine decided to take advantage of the great AP rates the same weekend and will just pick me up from the airport. Talk about luck!! Thanks for all your input. At least maybe this thread will help someone else out.
