Another quicky poll for you today!

The caramel colored soft drink - what do you call it?

I usually say........would you like a soda and then commence telling them the kinds I have on hand......diet Pepsi, Diet pepsi caffeine free, Gingerale .diet gingerale, raspberry gingerale....rootbeer and good old Mt. dew......diet and high test

I've lived in the south all of my life and I've never called anything a coke other than a coke...never heard anyone else do it either. To me, they are soft drinks.

I have to be specific, because I can not have drinks with sugar in them. So, I say give me a diet Coke, diet Pepsi, etc.

I am from CT and have always called it Soda. A friend of mine in Michigan and on the boards here (Hi Cobbler ) always calls it Pop. We always joke about this very subject!

It's all coke.....regardless of the brand name.

Coke for things like 'Cola' and 'Pepsi', and Lemonade for things like 'Sprite', but other than that it's usually the brand name for us

I call that caramel colored drink Coke, then I specify what flavor (coke, sprite, dr. pepper, etc). And if I say coke and they ask if Pepsi is ok, then I say no, I'll take a sweet tea.

Grew up in Michigan and we called it POP. But here in Maryland most people call is SODA, and I find myself saying Soda now too...these Marylanders are rubbing off on me!
