Good Morning everyone!! Hope everyone is doing well!

Well we dodged another snowstorm here at the capitol city so I'm glad! How about you guys? Any more snow?

Todays question of the day came to me because I saw my first add for the Westminster Kennel Club show coming in February (usually around Valentines Day) And you guys know what a dog nut I am sooooooo....

"What is your favorite classification of dog - and if you aren't a dog person, if you did get a dog, which group would you likely choose from?"

Golden Retriever would be my ultimate dog. My DD wants one so badly (she's a only) I just don't have the time. :(

I have a mini-dachshund (hound group) but if I didn't have allergies and could deal with the shedding, I'd have a Lassie look-alike (herder). Don't tell Maya the ferocious mini-doxy, OK! :p

This poll just brought some tears to my eyes. We had a yellow lab that we put to sleep 2 days ago. He stopped eating and had trouble walking. It was one of the hardesr things I have ever had to do.

But the Lab is one of the best dogs you can own.

I'm very partial to cocker spaniels; both my mother and I are. (It's genetic!) But I would LOVE an Irish Wolfhound. Unfortunately, we live in a condo and are bound by pet rules, so Duncan dog will be an only child until we can move.

In answer to your first question, yes we got snow! woo hoo 6"!

I don't know what list my favorite would be in. I so want a
Newfoundland, would that be in the working class?

Labs are great also. :teeth:

I'm mainly a cat person and I've never had a dog. But if I were to get one I'd like either an English Cocker Spaniel or a Jack Russell Terrier. They are too cute!

I love the toy dogs! We used to have a Pomeranian and now we have a Yorkie.

Weimaraner owner here!

The Weimaraner is a bold dog. They are smart and their busy minds thrive on activity. They are strong and determined, needing time, space, and attention. If you want the challenges of keeping ahead of the fearless "gray ghost", and your daily activities can include your dog, you may be suited to the Weimaraner. He loves kids and is used to being a member of a family.

The Weimaraner is a member of the Sporting Group and was first recognized by the AKC in 1943

We have a Lab but I really like Scotties and West Highlands

I chose working because I think that's where Doberman's would be classified (not positive). My dad has one, and I used to have one when I was growing up. The one my dad has was the first one we didn't get the tail and ears cropped - she can knock over 2 2-liter Pepsi's with it!

Butch is a Austrailan Shepard mixed(basically a mutt but a loveable one:) )
and we have a visitor dog who comes over to play who's a Golden

Sporting! I just love my flat-coated retriever. He's sooooooooooooooo good! But he's never retrieved anything! LOL! :earseek: This morning he was the first one to take off under the fence into the street. And, of course, the puppy had to follow him! I was late for class.

I am a pug owner...and they are in the toy group...but act like they are in the hound or other "big dog" group.

Since my Golden started owning me, I'd never get any other purebred, but I'd also own a pound mutt - they're usually quite lovable.:D

Then again, I'm an animal nut, so I'd probably take any kind - I wish I could have a whole house full.:D
