Happy Saturday Everyone!!

What's up for the weekend? Looks like it might be a nice day here. It's been pretty dreary the last part of the week - overcast and hot and humid but no rain which we need badly. Looking out the window I see blue skies

Unfortunately I will have to continue looking out a window at those blue skies because I have to work today - blech

Time for your poll question today... thinking of those pretty blue skies out there...

Ooooh, I love this question Lauri! I love summer. Its so hard for me to pick just one, since I love all the things listed.

I almost want to pick firing up the barbeque. We cook out all summer long. Love grilled foods.

But I think my favroite thing about the summer is swimming. We belong to a pool and are there pretty much all summer long. My kids are pool rats - they are the type to get in early in the morning and not want to come out until nighttime. We've made friends with other families at the pool so its become a social activity for us.

There were a couple I could have voted for. I love tanning, going swimming and I can do both those things when we go to the beach!

Well, I was thinking about saying what James Taylor says his father used to say each year:

Summer is alright, but it gets very hot here in Texas. Those things in the poll we do the rest of the year.

I picked other, because my favorite thing to do in the summer is to run track....I run it all spring, yes, but in the summer, i compete in the whole state of maine's track meet...very exciting, very fun!


But, I also love tanning....I'll get a tan while I'm running

Vacationing somewhere that it is cool! It is too hot to do anything outside in Houston.

Wow it's hard to pick just one! I'm an athletic girl so I love playing softball in the summer. I also like to play tennis, play baseball with the guys, or just go to my boyfriend's baseball games. Of course I love to go swimming when it's nice and hot out. But I guess my favorite would have to be going down the shore. It's fun going with friends, going in the ocean, on the boardwalk and playing miniature golf. It's something that we love to do on a weekend when it's nice and hot.

We had a pretty good thunderstorm here last night. Nice to see the grass is a bit greener today and less brown patches! Went to the air show last night and headed back today. Maybe hit the beach this afternoon. We'll see about that.

We hit the beach every Sunday. DH works Saturday's so it's our one day off together and we go and just veg out. It also helps that we live a few blocks from the beach.
