What is available as far as breakfast or dinner with the characters? There are many at WDW, but what about California?

Here are your character meal options:

Goofy's Kitchen at the DL Hotel - breakfast, lunch and dinner
Storyteller's Cafe at the GC Hotel - breakfast
PCH Grill at the PP Hotel - breakfast
Plaza Inn at DL Park - breakfast

There is also a Merry Poppins Tea at the PP Hotel on selected days and weekends.

We did Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. It is buffet style with lots of food choices. There were an amazing number of characters and a loud, rowdy, party atmosphere. Some characters were stationed in a single spot and others came around table to table plus group dances with the kids.

We did StoryTeller's for breakfast. You had your choice of buffet or menu. Much more elegant and subdued atmosphere. Fewer characters, only Chip and Dale and one other the morning we were there. The characters did not come to the tables. But they played games with the kids in the foyer area and seemed to give each child lots of attention.

We also did the Mary Poppins tea party. This is a great experience if you have somebody that is crazy about Mary. Tea for the grown-ups and juice for the children. Fancy finger sandwiches and tiny desserts. Mostly things the children did not like but again they loved the contact with Mary, particularly the song she has the audience sing with her. She does several songs, visits each table for pictures and autographs and does a group picture with your group in dress up hats, boas, etc.

We did not do the other two - - something to return for!

There may not have been as many different choices for character meals in Disneyland but we felt the quality was as good as any we have done at WDW.

The Breakfast with Pooh and Friends is probably the most underrated. It's inside DL, so only ticketed guests can get in. There's a very small crowd there so the kids get to meet all of the characters (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore) and get some good one-on-one time. Very relaxing compared to the madhouses that Minnie's and Goofy's can become. There's something about looking out upon Main Street and Sleeping Beauty's castle that makes it special.

Goofy's is our favorite....really high energy and the characters are nicely spaced throughout your visit.

We keep hitting Minnies on off days....we have to beg to see the characters. We miss the magic show with Merlin alot. We have friends that have had good experiences post Merlins, but we have not.

Storytellers is sedate, beautiful, nice. Not alot of character interaction.

Goofys is definitly our favorite. (has the Energy of Chef Mickeys at Contemporary in WDW)
