Hi We will be at vero beach may 26-may 30th and can't wait. No cooking for me except for breakfast and lunch.
Here is my list of resturants that I have chosen from looking up old posts. If anyone knows of any of these places to be closed or is not really good food, please let me know.

squid lips

also how is Tangos read one post on it but can't even find their website...any good??

You can add The Lemon Tree, Waldo's, and Mulligans to your list. They are all on Ocean Dr. and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nino's is Italian and open lunch and dinner, also on Ocean Dr. Tangos II just opened. The Chef is very well respected and had execellent food in his former more expensive restaurant, aptly named Tangos. The new restaurant, Ocean Dr. again, is currently only open for dinner. Pearl's is just south of Humiston Park on Ocean Dr.

I wouldn't waste my time nor money at the OCean Grill, overpriced, musty and seems as if it caters to blue haired women.

We've been going to the Ocean Grill for 30 years and have never had less than a stellar dining experience. After the hurricanes of 2004 and before people could return to the barrier island there was a rumor the Ocean Grill had been washed away. There was much sadness and consternation at the thought of losing this Vero Beach landmark. The antiquities that Waldo Sexton collected from around the that would have been lost would have been devastating. There's hardly a young person in Vero who has not worked at some point at the Ocean Grill. Everyone has their own perceptions of good food and good atmosphere. My personal feeling is the Ocean Grill is a unique and memorable dining experience and while expensive and it's worth it. It's particularly fun at Halloween and Christmas when it's appropriately decorated. On Halloween night the staff (and many diners) are dressed in costumes. Fun times for sure.

Oh NOT to be missed if you like Italian is Bella Napoli Ristorante!! The Veal Marsala was OUTSTANDING!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Prices were moderate (reasonable). It is small...family run & portions were large... We had leftovers to take back for lunch the next day. We would definitely go back.

Oddly enough when we were there last summer & asking the CM's at the front for their honest opinion they steered us away from Capt. Hirams... We did try Squid Lips...it was OK. Nothing to brag about tho. But Bella Napoli - THAT one was some good food...and fantastic service!!:thumbsup2

Yes, Captain Hiram's usually gets pretty panned by most. I've been there a few times when I didn't know any better and was new to the area! It was okay. Squid Lips is better.

Squid Lips, we've eaten there 2 times with the last time being about 2 years ago. Food was good, big burgers, great fish, loved the Myers Rum sweet potato.
It is a casual bar atmosphere but, not routty. We took our daughter who was 11, she loved it.
Have a great trip.

I have not been to the places on your list, but I would HIGHLY recommend the Lemon Tree. We have eaten dinner there on two different trips to Vero and both times the food and service were excellent!
