Meals on a budget? Help!

We've stayed off-site and eaten most of our meals in. We found what worked best for us was to have a big breakfast, snack in the parks (we brought our own snacks, water and flavor packs) and then went back to the house for dinner.

The first night there we made up casseroles in the disposable foil pans and we used the crock pot a lot. We also did breakfast casseroles in the disposable foil pans.

For the crock pot we did meatballs and spaghetti sauce and had spaghetti in meat balls one night, then did meatball subs another night. We also did pulled pork, Mexican chicken and beef stroganoff. We tried to keep things as simple as possible. Our house also had a grill so we grilled out and made a big potato salad, pasta salad and tossed salad that would take us through a few nights.

My boyfriend and I aren't going out to eat at all while in Disney. We're driving down, and we're premaking our dinners and keeping them in a cooler. So I'f you're driving you could maybe do that? Or since you're stay off site you might have a kitchen? You could get some cheap easy meals to make!

For supper after you leave the park you can call CiCi's pizza and order some Pizzas to go and go pick them up. You get a one topping large pizza for 5.99. You can buy 3 large pizzas for less than $20 and feed all 6 of you. We do this at least once every trip.

To eat INSIDE CiCi's and get the buffet it is something like 6.99 per person plus 2.00 for the drink. So as you can see you can eat very cheaply by getting the pizza to go.

Thanks so much, everyone! I feel a lot better now about being able to make this work! :cool1:

Thank you! I will look for coupons. We are staying at Bonnet Creek. Are we allowed to bring any type of drink in the park or just water?

I have taken bottled water, and cokes into the park. No glass, no adult beverages.

You can rent a locker to put your cooler in. This way you aren't lugging it all over the park. But do keep some snacks with you for in line,

I have a soft sided/ collapsible cooler than I used for years. Really 2 of them, one I would put drinks in one and the other food items to keep cool with one of those freezer pack things in the other. They both fit under the stroller. I use them in the room now as my kids are grown up and married. But DH and I take them to the pool. Which is a really great , we take rolled deli meat and cheese, grapes, & cracker and in a plastic bottle we can bring our own wine. This save a ton of money. We started this when the kids were little, we found that we could get them to eat if they did not have to sit down and eat, we would roll up some ham and cheese, then a few grapes. they would gobble it down and jump back in, then re-peat.. Super.... Great memories:cloud9:

I would freeze a bottle of water or two this helped keep the other drinks cool most of the day, juice boxes and capri sun, saved me many a day. As a suggestion you might want to hit the dollar store. They have lots of Disney stuff I found some mickey packaged candy for 1.00. That I put away for my trip in January.
