As many of you are aware this weekend we've bitten the bullet and booked to go back in Feb of next year after some dissapointing news from my DH's boss :headache: , my dilema is that when we go my eldest DD will be 10, ok we'll purchase an adult ticket for the parks, my question is does she have to eat from the adult menu's when character dining??, as there's no way she'll eat an adult's meal. Can she eat the children's meal?.

Hi

Are you doing DDP?? If not, I'm sure your 10 yr old will be fine eating a child's meal. They aren't that strict in the US.. about things like that.
Sometimes our kids, have eaten kids meals, when teenagers.. and no one bothers.. come to think of it, my DM (who is 70 in December) often has a 'happy meal'!! LOL

You will be fine except at buffets where the price is based on age as anyone can have anything from any part of the buffet.

Claire ;)

As I stayed on site last time and my DD was 10, and booked my ADR's off the hotel ressie, they knew at each Disney restaurant that she was 10 and charged me that way, Disney wont miss a $, and as you check in they had all the details.

Not sure if you go by standby, presume its up to you to tell them,

We're not doing DDP, but on looking at some of the menu's I know she won't eat the of them, and we are pretty careful with her as she has lots of food allergies!, as long as I know that they will charge an adult price then at least I can budget for them before hand;) , it will probably only be for the few character meals that we book:thumbsup2 , many thanks for your responses.

As others have said, if it's a buffet you will have to pay the adult price but she can eat what she wants. If it's a TS restaurant you can order off the kids menu for your DD but if you order anything else they will charge the adult price.

You can also split an adult meal between you and your DD is you are not that hungry :)
