meal vouchers that expire in December

I saw vouchers on ebay that expire in December, so after many hours of searching, I found DWtickets.com They have the vouchers but they cost $16.50 each plus they charge a lot for shipping $8.00. So I figured that if a reseller has them, maybe a place like hotwiresavings or connections123 has them. Anyway, I called both companies (which are the same by the way) and neither one sells them.

Maybe someone out there knows of another savings club or something like it where the vouchers will be more in line with the old prices.
Or maybe hotwire will have them in soon.

I just went through the site again, they are part of the Entertainment benefits group. I know this is something some companies subscribe to.
I'm going to call them tomorrow.

Great investigation, Sammy! It will be interesting to see if anyone else starts selling these. :)

Sammy,

(I was going to wait to post about this but since there's a thread already.)

I just ordered from DWtickets......(at least $5 cheaper per voucher than the prices Ebay is getting even with shipping) I am going in Dec. with family and planning to use at B&C or Riverside Mill only...so even with the slightly higher rate we'll make out.

BTW they charge another fee besides shipping...not sure if it is tax or like a handling charge but it's between 6-7%.

They only take internet orders.....

It sounds like they mainly deal with companies or conventions and not the general public....

They fedexed my order and it should be here tomorrow according to fedex....

I will post about my experience with them after I recieve my package.....

:goodvibes

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Just got my order today......

They are the regular Q&C like the ones from the last two years......

Beaches and Cream and Pepper Market are included on them......

They do charge tax/shipping though which added about $20 to my order of 12 vouchers.

BUT STILL CHEAPER THAN PAYING CASH (at some places) OR EBAY.

Lets say you use these at B&C, ordering the most expensive items on the menu:
Prime Rib Sub 10.99
Onion Rings 2.20 (diff between fries & rings)
Iced Tea 1.99
No Way Jose 7.99
Subtotal 23.17
Tax 1.51
Tip 3.48 (based on 15% per voucher)
Total 28.16
Not a bad savings, providing you were buying 12 vouchers. If you bought less, like 4, your savings would be less. The vouchers would then cost you 19.70 each (due to the shipping cost not changing).
If you used the DDE instead, the same meal would cost 22.53.
If I were buying these vouchers, I would only get them for B&C and Pepper Market, if I was planning on ordering the most expensive menu items.
I'll probably pass, and just get the DDE card. If Hotwire starts offering these again, I'll think about ordering a few (for a better price). Let's all keep our eyes peeled- I'm still with Hotwire for this very reason!

And we STILL can't buy them in the UK
Oh well, I got a very good deal on E Bay before they discontinued the regular ones (only paid $12.50 each :cool1: ) and we had a blast

I just sold my last vouchers. We will not be going this year. My teenage children were disappointed to here that they may ot be offering vouchers anymore. They will be thrilled if I can get some for next year. I checked that site out and noticed that they do not say which restaurants participate. Also no mention of tip included. If the maximum value of these vouchers is $18.00 I will not purchase them. Our last vouchers had a couple of restaurants that each meal with desert and drink was $24.00 to $30.00.

Does anyone know which restaurants are included?

Tigger

i would be interested to know more detail, are they exactly the same as the voucher from hotwire?

the fine print said "maximum value $18" which i take to mean that any price over $18 for your meal you will have to pay in cash, yes?

Actually the website says can be valued at up to $18 depending on which restaurant used at....

B&C is still included and they're very nice about letting you split meals there.
When they say $18 I don't think they're taking the tax and tip into consideration. Which the vouchers DO say is included.

They are good at the same restaurants as the ones that expire in May. (the e-bayers have the restaurants in their listings)

So Pepper Market and B&C still included and the wording on the vouchers and restaurants are the same.

The actual voucher does not list a value limit.

(Although they tried to limit us one time two years ago at Riverside Mill and told us the value was only $14. We argued that that wasn't on the vouchers and he gave us our food. Needless to say we didn't go through his register the rest of our stay.)

I the only way to really save money is to order these things in bulk should we not organize and do it. My only other option is to overorder and put some up on Ebay for the silly people that don't know they are paying too much, and honestly I couldn't do it.

I also want to know if they ship to Canada. (probably another $10.00)lol :wave2:

can sell these vouchers, why can't the DIS sell them in their store to us? Hotwire was the only place selling these for a decent price, and I'm sure they were still making money on them. It would be a wonderful DIS "membership benefit", and would save me more money than the silly Disney Visa 1% rewards. Is there a law against this? Or is it that it would take too much time and accounting?

So what is everybody gonna do here? I'm debating on whether to purchase these vouchers. We will probably buy 10 or more of the vouchers, but we also want to buy our Disney Quest tickets ahead of time....

We are going in late May - I can't wait too long!!

I'm just wondering if anybody else is in my situation??

I just finally got around to cancelling my Hotwire membership. I figured why spend the money each month if I'm not ordering anything. I had been keeping it with the hopes of the Q&C vouchers but the rep I spoke to indicated he didn't foresee them coming back with Q&C vouchers now that Disney is offering a meal package with the MYW package.

Are any of the Powers That Be reading this thread? Would it be possible for the DIS boards to buy tickets in bulk and then offer them to us? I would sooner buy from this site anyway.

I can understand the boards not wanting to be involved....but we could always put together a group order that one person places and then the others pay that person via paypal.....I would probably go for that myself. Maybe the person who orders can be excluded from any shipping charges since they would be the person taking the risk and then the others involved could split the shipping and fees??? Just an idea. If this isn't allowed through the boards just remove this post, please, I don't want to violate any DIS regulations.

I'm still hoping....because the vouchers were supposed to originally be for group events, I heard. You know, when some big group like Pop Warner is down at WDW, I just can't see them all having the dining plan. And so there is still going to be a need for some kind of 'pre-paid' vehicle for meals.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I'm hoping that the voucher days are not completely over! :)

I hope Disney don't exclude vouchers either. We had a h.s band of 125. The hotel gave us continental breakfast and then they each got a voucher a day to use in the parks. I know personally if some of these kids didn't have a voucher they wouldn't have eaten. We had a corp sponsor pay for some of the kids that couldn't afford their portion of the band trip to Florida to march at the MK. I know many had absolutely no money with them. Many of us chaperones bought sodas and water on the bus and ice cream bars, knowing of these kids situations, but we didn't want to single anyone out.
