Ok guys, I've heard of the double cheeseburger and ordering an extra bun thing but what I want to know is other places and or meals that can be split between two adults?? We are going to be in a cabin so we will be doing a bit of cooking and we have plans on a few PS at a few restaurants but I am sure that we will still have our share of park food. I was hoping that maybe we could share some food sharing tips here. So if anyone knows of some larger or tastier meals that could be easily shared like the burger thing please post here!
Thanks,
Kim

A lot of the restaurants at Disney serve huge portions! Last week, we ate at Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge. DD and I shared the pork chop dinner - it came with two large pork chops, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. It was more than enough for the two of us.

DH and I shared an order of Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe for breakfast on our last day. Again, it was more than enough!

We ate at 50s Prime Time and DH & I, and the kids, all shared the Smores for dessert and it was more than we could eat! (Of course, we had just had lunch, but it is a nice size dessert!)

Enjoy!!

Trails End buffet at FW does a take out buffet where you get three different size containers to fill. Other have reported that there is enough food to feed more that one person back at your cabin. Their buffet in general is a good deal and worth checking out.

The entre's at 50's prime time are big enough to share too. The chicken plate has like 3 pieces on it.

I have found that just about all the restaurants serve huge portions. When we went in May, we split everything. Esp at 50's PT, their portions are BIG, they will split it in the back even.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely try to use some of them on our trip in Oct.
Thanks,
Kim

I know some of the over the counter restaurants serve foot long hot dogs.....you could probably cut that in half & share it! Not too sure about any other meals. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

That's a good idea, do they have these at Casey's I absolutely love Casey's Hotdog, we usually get one as we leave the park. Thanks for the thought.

For those of you who have split meals, did you feel the restaurant frowned on this, or did they care? Neither of us eat huge meals and this would be a great idea to try, but I don't want to come across as being cheap. And then we'd be able to have dessert, too!

K9PAl,

My husband has hypoglycemia, and it literally makes him sick to consume too much food at once, so we always share a salad and an entree'. We have never been made to feel awkward when doing this.

Besides, it is healthier to eat this way even if you do not have any health issues. The only problem since he was diagnosed is that I have to eat the desserts all by myself, and I am going to blow up like a tick.

Don't be concerned about sharing!

we shared steak, coconut shrimp and creme burlee at BD:), steak, samlon patties and choc bread pudding at lecellier:)( neither are still on the menu:( ) and lobster, bruschetta and key lime pie at RFC( here was just tons of just OK food, the crab stuffing would have been better stuck under the broiler imo). we also split the cheese and dessert pizzas at pizzafari,

no body cared ( bd even plated each 1/2 portion nicely for us)but we did tip more than the bill since we shared.

My DD and I usually share a meal. She is 15 and a kid's meal is too small and the adult's meals are too big. I never came across anyone who cared that we were sharing. Most of the time we order desserts (sometimes an appetizer too).

Also, if my other children want a diversion from the chicken finger meal, they will share an adult meal. Again, no one has given us any grief about this.

Also, we always tip like we've ordered 2 separate meals.

Places we've shared meals include Prime Time, Teppanyaki, LeCellier, and Kona.

Well, here I am presented with yet another change of plans.....Our travel party has once again changed and instead of staying at the Ft. Wilderness Cabins, we will all be in 3 rooms at the Pop Century. Now, we will be eating the good majority of our meals out of the room, with the exception of breakfast and some sandwiches and stuff, I need to know where the best and easiest and some of the not so expensive but still good food are at. Please help guys.

we were at pop right after it opend and used the q.c with great success there. probably could have easily split a meal with maybe an extra side ( I got a large poriton of shrimp lomein plus asalad plus twinkie tiramasu hub got a double burger, salad "&"fries "and" ttm (eek: !) plus our beverages with only 2 q/c so $22, maybe less than i'd spend around here!... also got and split a sub, salad and dessert( forget which) with 1 q/c for lunch on the way home since we had forgotten to use one) not sure if they are still so generous but it's a good place for quick, inexpensive meals...if they have it try the blueberry crumb coffee cake umumgood! they have a real meal each night ( like roast beef or fried chicken) plus lots of other things and everything we got there was good. the pizza, while we didn't get it so can't say anything about the quality, was a pretty fair deal also if i remember right. thought it was a great food court !

Thanks for the info on the pop century food court. I would probably imagine that we will be eating in the parks a good bit except maybe at lunch time. I was wondering if anyone else out there has shared a meal, and what it was and where you got it. Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Kim

Ps: Also any ideas about easy things we could prepare in the room, no cooking required??
Thanks

Ok guys since nobody else had any more ideas I decided to use the allears site and do my own searching....does anyone know if they are still doing the Meal Plus Certificates at the Ak?? If so I will probably buy these and save some $$. I know this would work at Pizzafari, we ate here last time and the kids meal size pizza is the same one you get for adults, and the kids meal includes a drink and chips I think, but if we did this then we could just purchase the kids meal plus certificates, if in fact they are still doing this what does someone, anyone out there think about this??

Yes, they're still available. We used them @ Tusker house and Pizzafari...it was a great value

Great! I think we will definitley plan on using them when we go, because they seem to be great money savers. Does anyone know if they serve foot-long hotdogs at Casey's Corner?? I love their hotdogs but I don't remember seeing these there.
Thanks,
Kim

Casey's still served footlong hot dogs in April. I know because my DH loaded his up with relish and all sorts of stuff and then it fell out of the bun while we were waiting for Wishes. He was MAD. Maybe he can get another in August.

we did do this, only problem is we got a tiny sized drink! ( no refills) the rest was fine. however the sandwich looked so good we probably would go that route next time even though we liked the pizza very much
