meal plan when renting

I am renting points and I was wondering if I have to book the meal plan with their reservation of can they book the meal plan on their own?

Only the DVC member / owner can call MS to add a dining plan to the reservation, The DP chosen must be paid for at the time it is added to the reservation.

The renters / guests can make their own ADRs, though.

i think it still has to be added by the member at least 48 hours in advance. it is not possible to add the DDP at check-in.
