Today I purchased the meal plan and got each of us a one day ticket to the park. I already have old tickets to use so I'm trying to figure out the best way of handeling the 1-day tickets. Should I just use them as is? Can I upgrade them to longer passes? Can I save them for another trip and upgrade them then? Could I combine all 4 tickets together toward a longer pass?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Welcome to the DIS!

I don't think you can combine tickets togther, but you can upgrade your tickets from a one-day to an x-day after you check in. However, it's cheaper to calculate the number of days you'll need in advance and buy that many tickets. With the current pricing structure it's only $25 more between a 5 day hopper and a 10 day hopper. If you're thinking about booking a longer ticket and saving the extras you may want to consider saving the tickets you have now and just buying the number of days you need for your trip.

BTW, are you checking in between August 21 and Oct 4th? Disney is running a special with FREE dining during that time!

Thanks for the info. I just want to clarify that if we don't use these tickets during this trip the 4 tickets won't expire because they won't be "activated". Is that correct?

Also, if they are not activated, can they be given to someone else to use or are they specific to each individual at the time they're purchased? We thought we may give them to my sister who is not joining us this time so she can use them for her next trip? Sorry for the clarification question I'm still trying to adjust to the new ticket system.

They wll be on your resort key with your names and will only be good for that person. If you have old tickets, give her those and use the ones you will get on this trip.

Do you have enough old tickets and days remaining so you do not need to use the new tickets?

If not you can redistribute the old tickets so just one or two people need to expand one or two new tickets to cover the entire vacation with. The old tickets will then be locked in to the person who next uses them since the biometric finger readers now apply to all tickets.

One person should not both use old tickets and activate a new ticket unless the vacation will need exactly 2, 3, 11, or 12 theme park days.

I'll probably just confuse the issue more...

I do not think you can save the 1 day tickets UNLESS you purchase the "no expiration" which wouldnt be cost effective on a one day ticket. Also the "new MYW" tickets are designed to prevent using someone else's tickets -
There is so much info on MYW tickets that it does get confusing!

I believe this site is wonderful in getting out the information >>

You don't have to buy the non-expiration option as long as the tickets are not activated. You cannot, however, share tickets anymore. The tickets are on the room key with your name on it. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that you may have to show an ID when you first activate your ticket.

I do think it would be easier to use the one-day (I'm assuming they are 1 park also) on this trip. Since it's part of a package, the tickets will probably be on your room key. I would worry that they would expire when your room key is deactivated. If you have days on the other tickets left over at the end of your trip, you could just use those in the future.

They are using the biometric fingerprint machine at most of the turnstiles now, so sharing tickets won't be possible.
