Meal Plan and DVC?

Is the free meal plan available to DVC owners? My understanding is that it only applies to those who book non-DVC resort rooms.

Personally I think it should be availabe to us, since we are still in essence paying for our vacation....

No, sadly, we are not eligible for any free meal plans

The free dining is offered for the purpose of filling hotel rooms during what is traditionally a slow time for Disney. Apparently, it's been a very successful program.

They already know we're guaranteed to book rooms

Free dining is only available when purchasing a full price package through CRO, including room and tickets. DVC points rooms are not full price and not a package. Just like you cannot get free dining with an AP discount room. You can get free dining on DVC rooms if you purchase the package through CRO (but I think the deadline has passed).
