Thinking of purchasing this plan for our 2 day visit. Does anyone have any experience with this? Does it save money in the long run? We are 4 adults (2 "adult" kids ages 15 and 11)

Thanks!

Most posters will say skip the meal deal. It offers standard theme park fare and is only good in three restaurants in each park. Frankly, there are better choices w/o the meal deal and you can share portions...the meal deal doesn't allow meal sharing.

:thumbsup2

and this is coming from a homie that has done the meal deal

I did the Meal Deal one day on a recent trip (thanks to a Am Exp discount/rebate) and tend to agree that at full price its not really a great deal. The food was a bit better than I expected but still theme park food. I did find a fruit plate entree offered at the International Food and Film location at Universal Studios that made a great afternoon snack.
The meal plan might be a good deal for you (or just some of your group) if the kids tend to eat a lot or need a bunch of snacks (which the dessert items work well as).
The meal plan at SeaWorld or Busch Gardens (though a bit more expensive) is better. It includes breakfast, lunch and dinner; a better variety of snacks; and beverages (including bottled water).

Did it yesterday. Had 3 meals, fruit platter and filled cup each time. Didn't like the desserts :( not including drink it would have been about $11 and fruit was about $7.50. Seaworldbhas better food but not much open or offered at Universal.

I've done the one a Busch Gardens, and it feels like a challenge.

Forget the rides!

I have eating to do!

Needless to say. Two Burger Meals, half a chicken and Fajita's later. I waddled out of the park.

I've never consider this before, but am thinking about it this trip for my DS16only. I swear he is a bottomless pit and no matter how big our breakfast is before we hit the parks he is hungry an hour later. So I'm wondering about a couple of things.

1) Can you go through the line and get just the dessert? He always wants snacks throughout the day and desserts would work for him.

2) What time do the meal deal places usually open? He'll be hungry by 10 ;).

Thanks!

I saw 10:30 or 11 open and closes 30 min before park close. Yes u can just get dessert, etc. You are allowed 1per trip. You can get directly in line again. I did a fruit plate for lunch.
