I have seen a few posts about the meal certificates, but was wondering if anyone could tell me if they really felt buying them saved you money? We are a family of four with 2 kids 4, and 1 so we couild easily share some of them. If they are a good deal I want to order some. Please let me know what you think!

The vouchers are well worth it if you dine at the right locations. Order a couple and head to Beaches and Cream during your stay. A friend and I shared every meal and walked out stuffed for $5.50 each! We would usually get the chicken caesar salad for an appetizer, the prime rib sandwich and the No Way Jose peanut butter and chocolate sundae. Its well worth it if you get the Kitchen Sink, a dessert alone totalling more than $20.

Check the menu's oon deb will's site. Then if the items you would order for an entree, side, beverage and dessert are greater than $11.00 after tax you saved money. We (family of four kids ages 7 and 10 used two vouchers per counter service meal and still had food that got wasted. We were in the world for 14 days so even at 2/3 savings per voucher it added up. Beaches and Cream was by far the best value, even if you don't order the Kitchen sink.

Am I reading correctly that you have to join Mousesavers to buy these types of Casual meal certificates, or are they available at a slightly higher price within WDW someplace..??

just wondering...

You don't join Mousesavers - it is strictly a resource website. You do, however, have to join either Connections of Simple Escapes (really the same company) to purchase the vouchers. They are issued by Disney (they are also used by Disney for some of their own meal plans) but they cannot be purchased directly from Disney.

Connections has the better membership price - it is $80 for a year or $1 for a 30-day trial membership. We felt it was worth it to pay for the year but many others have found it better to do the trial - I would evaluate the savings available from all their offerings (gift certificates to store and restaurants, discounted movie tickets etc.) and decide which membership would be best for you.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the information on these. I am going to check them out.
