HI

wondering anyone can give me some info...trying to set a good budget goal for our food plan..DH, myself, 2 DD's ages 14 & 6 when we go. - 14y.o is a good eater :) ( adult size portions)
.we are not going to do all " value" meals ( i am on vacation LOL) we will be there for 4 nts/ 5 days....Dinner the first night at our resort hoping for concousre steakhouse.

..we plan on eating at CRT for breakfast, one day and Chef mickeys another day for breakfast. 2 more breakfasts whereever (not sure yet)- but 2 CM breakfasts are enough i believe.
lunchs would be at the parks....caseys for sure at MK :) would be 3 more lunches at parks ( 5th day will eat at DTD)
dinners we want are comtempoary grill, trails end and narcoussees .
so what i am budgeting ( never done this before- 1 st trip to visits parks- we were in MK last year for 1 day:( ) is average of $ 200 per day? some days would be less - ( the ones without CB) and i realize that trails end wont cost near as much as nacoussees! LOL

i have looked over the menus at allearsnet.com and i think i have a good price set...but does anyone have any suggestions or comments?

and of cousre we would have snacks in the parks also, so would i need to jump it up to $250 per day?

thanks

Tina

May not help you much, but I'm allowing $140 per day for food on our trip. This will be one character meal, the rest counter service or lunch at the food court at the resort. That is for DH, me, DS age 4 at the time, and ds age almost 2 at the time; the 2-yo will eat free at the character meals/buffets, so that will save some.

$250 a day seems really high to me, but I've never eaten at the Concourse or Narcousses (sp?), and we won't this trip either. Maybe someone else has a better idea, or more accurate?

Snacks are what kill us. You figure your character breakfasts are going to run about $75 each with tax and tip included, one round of Mickey ice cream bars-$10, lunch at a counter service for 4 about $30-$35, and a nice dinner $100, and any extra drinks and popcorn or margaritas at mexico(UMMMM), will add up. I would say on the safe side bump it up to the $250.

We (myself, DW, and 18-year old DS) just returned from an April visit of 5 nights. We averaged between $150.00 and $200.00 a day. If we didn't eat breakfast out, we had lunch. We also ate at Jiko and BlueZoo. I would plan accordingly. If you budget $200.00 a day, you should be fine. If you budget $250.00 a day, you'll definitely have more than enough. Enjoy! :)

I usually tell people $50.00 per day per person. I would think for your family of 4, that $250 per day per person would be fine. As I usually go single or with one other person, the only time we go over the $100 per day for two is when we eat out someplace a little nicer (usually Le Cellier) then I find that we spend about $130 to $140 that day depending on where had breakfast/lunch or snacks. If you want to keep snacks cost down, then I suggest bringing in bags of potato chips, cereal bars or cereal in bags. I found this to work out great as I could snack waiting in line for Buzz without having to spend that $2.50 on another small box of popcorn. I usually spent the $2.50 on an icecream later on in the day. Also, I see that you left 2 of your breakfast open. Don't know if you tried the MainStreet Bakery in MK but plenty of quick breakfast items there. We usually get a fruit bowl, blueberry loaf and or muffin or one or two other items with milk for a little under $20 and there was plenty of food to split. We usually walk over to the Casey's area and sit, eat and enjoy the first show at the Castle in the morning. Have a great trip.

Go to allearsnet.com and look at the menus. That was very helpful to us to budget since it gives the menus and prices.
