ME to airport without flight

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't seem to find it. We are flying in to Orlando and taking the ME to our resort and they end of our stay we are renting a car at the airport to drive to the beach. The first person I spoke with at Disney said I couldn't get a ride back unless I had a flight but when I spoke with someone at ME they told me to call the day before with what time we wanted to be picked up and it didn't matter that we were coming back for a car rental. Has anyone had the ME drop them off at the airport without a flight booking? TIA

Why not just pick up your rental on WDW property and avoid the hassle of the airport?

DME does not have access to the flight manifests so they dontknow if you are booked on a flight or not just figure out what time you want to get to the aiport an find a flight number that is approx 3 and a half hours later, your pick up time from the resort is approx 3 hours before your flight and i added the half hour as the travel time give or take When you get to the airport just go to the rental counter easy

I've done this a few years back. I had a cheaper rental from the airport than at the Car Care Center. Check with the desk the night before you want to head to the airport. They should be able to accommodate you on one of that days busses (since they are not always full.

The first DME person that you spoke to was incorrect, Call back. There is no need to make up a flight in order to use DME. Just tell them what time you need to be at the airport.

Why now check the prices at Budget at the DoubleTree, within walking distance of Downtown Disney, or Alamo at the Swan-Dolphin. I've had good prices at both of them and at the very least it would save you the time and hassle of going all the way to the airport...that's got to be worth something.

One thing - be sure to call during normal business hours. The folks at the "after hours" number can't always help when you have a more unusual request. But you can definitely use DME without any flight info. I used to travel standby all the time, and most of the time didn't know what airline I'd end up getting on, let alone specific flight info. Disney was always very accomodating.

Just want to confirm what others have said. I had the opposite situation a few weeks ago - we flew into St. Augustine, then rented a car to drive to MCO (was easier to return to airport) then took ME to resort. I was told by multiple CMs that you do NOT need a flight to use ME. It is a benefit of having a resort reservation. So, as long as you are staying onsite, you can use ME to go back and forth to MCO. So, as PPs have said, just explain your situation and it will be fine.
