I recently changed flights for our flight going to Orlando. It's still on the same day just an earlier time (7am instead of 9am). I called Disney and told them for the Magical Express. They didn't mention sending out new tags or anything so am I just supposed to use the ones that I already received? The CM I talked to mentioned not to change anything on the tags until I knew for sure that the new flight is the one I am definately taking, not sure what she was talking about. Anyone have any experience with this?

Our flight was changed about a month ago. 2 weeks ago I called ME and told them of the change. They actually had it already in their system. I asked them if the flight should change again, should I call and was told I could but they monitor it as well. I was also told that the tags I originally received were fine and that our luggage would make it to the resort. Hope this helps. If you are still concerned I would just call back. :)

Your flight arrival time has nothing to do with your tags. The only reason they need your flight arrival time is for staff scheduling. This gives them a good idea when people are arriving and how many personnel to have on hand to keep folks moving quickly.

The only information on your yellow tags is your name, resort where you are staying, and your reservation #.

They don't care what flight the luggage shows up on. The luggage handling workers on the tarmac grab anything that has a DME yellow tag on it and places it in a separate area away from the baggage carousel, then the barcodes are scanned and the luggage is sorted according to resort area, then loaded onto a truck. Then it is taken to another staging area at Disney, and scanned again, and sorted to another truck to go to your specific resort. Then scanned again upon arrival at your resort, then scanned again when delivered to your room.

So it really doesn't matter what flight your luggage arrives. They don't even have it in the system until it comes off the plane.

Thanks for the responses! I didn't see any flight info on the tags so that's what I was confused about from the CM, but I figure they have the bright yellow tags so the bags will get pulled no matter what time the flight gets in.

ME Question - Changed Flight Arriving at MCO

when I was talking to a CM at DME on the phone I ask about these changes.

I was told if your FLIGHT time changes there's no need to call.

If your FLIGHT number changes then you need to call them and tell them.

That is true. They track arrival and depature volume by flight #s. If your flight # stays the same, but the time changes, they can find that out themselves.

If your flight # changes, they can't track that themselves, because they don't know what flight you were changed to.

As I said before, this is all primarily for scheduling. For example, if 40 people on DL 2711 (fictitious) are signed up for Magical Express, and they see it is delayed 4 hours to 2am, they can make sure they have personnel on hand and the buses available to get those folks on their way.

Oh, just a note, unfortunately, it doesn't work that way for the return to the airport.

If 40 folks on DL 1455 (fictional) are told they need to be picked up from their resort at 9:20am for a 12:20pm flight. If they know in advance that flight is not leaving MCO till 5:30pm, they won't delay your pickup.

It was my flight number that changed and I did call DME when it did change to tell them it. I just wanted to make sure that the tags didn't need to change also. Thanks again.....8 days
