I just booked my return flight and I got the cheapest flight but it's at 6:20 AM so I was wondering if anyone else who has gone at this time... what time did you have to meet your ME bus?

Thanks
Jaime

Their pickup is on average 2 hours and 45 minutes before your departure time. You'll get an exact pickup time the day before you check out - ME will put a letter under your door with the specifics.

my daughter's flight was at 7:45am and they told her to be ready at 5am

so i should be thinking and guessing around 3:45.. why bother going to bed! anyways... it'll be cool!

Thanks again
Jaime

You could also book one fewer night at Disney, book a night at an airport hotel for the last night, and take ME back the previous evening (pick any flight leaving late that evening on any airline for your ME trip to meet).

I've thinking a 6:20 flight is a good excuse to stay at the MCO Hyatt. Seems like a pretty cool hotel..

zero dark thirty. We ended doing a similar thing when we went down Columbus Day weekend in that it was cheaper to fly very early Tues morn rather than Monday. We were picked up about 0330. It was cheaper/easier to stay on site that last night as we got to use all of Monday at the World and I just added another night on points(Sun-Thurs is much lower points for DVC).

We did the MCO Hyatt for an early flight and loved it. My DH took all the luggage down while we slept just a little more. Worked out great and it is a nice hotel. It was fun to stand out on the balcony and watch the planes. No noise at all by the way.

Call the hotel directly for the cheapest rates- that's how it panned out for us and I'm really savvy that way.

Have fun!!

Holy moley. Wonder if ME would pick me up at Pleasure Island.

JLBower: I have an 7:30 a.m. flight for my return and I was cautioned by fellow DISers that I may have to carry all of my luggage with me on the ME bus (versus them picking it up for me at an earlier time). Apparently, the checkin desk doesn't open until about 5 a.m. and my ME time will probably be before that. I will play it by ear, but I thought you may want to consider it.

I'm flying SW and they don't do the hotel check in your luggage thing.. so we would have to bring our own luggage with us anyways. But thanks!

Thanks guys for the in put...

Correct. "Participating airline", which applies only to the resort check out airline check in operation, therefore does not apply to any airlines' flights leaving before 8 AM.

Also you need to manage your own luggage when staying at an airport hotel for your last night.

We have the same 'problem' Flying SW at 6:45 am. We are debating about a taxi or something so we don't have to leave so early. 5 am sounds a little better than 4:00 am.

I believe the only issue is the luggage. I still expect to ride the ME bus to the airport with my luggage. At least, that is how I understand it.

I agree. After the initial booking, a NWA employee inadvertently grabbed the wrong return flight when I made a change on the outbound flight. I didn't recognize it until it was too late. At least its not a red-eye flight!

Hey Heather.. I aint crazy !!! You're a NUT! :earboy2:

My plan is just to stay up all night with Mickey :rolleyes1 hehe anways, then get up for my ME and yes I'll have to bring my own lugage to the airport and check it in myself (i already have all my stuff booked so I'm not doing that check in at another hotel..) and just be done with it! I was just wondering what time... I know MSY airport ppl stand doesn't even open early early because I got to the airport one time at 5:00 and had to wait until 6:00 for the counter service to open up... a waste! But anyways.. I think I'll be just fine.

I might look like this in the morning... :tilt:

either way I'll be :cloud9: after my week at DIsney!

Sounds like a plan! :wizard:

Who knows...maybe the later flight will open up and you can switch if you want. If not, doesn't sound like you're too bummed about getting up early. Personally, I am not a morning person at all!

I have heard that they schedule you on a bus 3 hours before your departure time. BUT, since there will be NO traffic that early in the am and I doubt security is bad that early, you could probably get away with leaving 2 hours early. It's only about 20 miles to the airport from DW. :flower:

You're scheduled about 3 hours before your flight. This allows enough time for a late bus, stops in other resorts and traffic. DME knows there won't be much traffic but the bus might make an extra stop.

If you want a 2 hour pick up you'll have to take a cab or towncar. You don't have an option to request a later pickup with DME. Show up a half hour late hoping to grab the next bus you might find out that no reservations for your resort means no bus to take.
