There seem to be more and more reports of guests not getting their DME info packets lately. The packets, in the past, usually arrived about 4-5 weeks prior to the vacation dates.
I would call DME and make sure that you are in their system. The vast majority of guests that call to make sure find that they are, indeed, in the system, but for some reason never got their packets.
I wonder if everyone started to call Disney, or email them, to complain about not getting their packets, if anything would change. I mean, one of the biggest pluses for using DME is not having to worry about getting your bags..and if you don't get that packet, with the luggage tags, then Disney is pretty much taking that important perk away.
Yes, I fully realize that you can give a description of your bags and the claim receipts, but that isn't the way it's supposed to work. I am not comfortable leaving that airport,with my bags going round and round on the public baggage carousel. If enough people complain about it and tell Disney that they won't be using DME then perhaps they will start getting the packets out in time.
