We are going to ASMO in December for a week, and were looking forward to using the ME luggage delivery service so that we wouldnt have FOR ONCE to haul our big suitcases around and just pack a change of clothes in our carry ons. But with the TSA restrictions that means no toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, no moisturizer, no shower gel, no liquid makeup etc etc etc..

We're going to arrive late (plane lands at 10.30pm) and I read that a lot of resorts wait until the next morning to deliver the luggage - I guess to avoid waking you up which is nice, but can you actually request that they deliver during the night ? I dont care if they wake me up. Heck for all I care they can come in the room while we sleep, drop the luggage pick up their tip and leave.. after 16 hours of flying and waiting I probably wouldnt even notice LOL

My mom suggested that we pack a small, separate bag with just toiletries that we would pick up at the carousel before going to take the ME bus. I guess it wouldnt be too bad except for making us waste time at the carousel.

Does anyone know if the gift shop at ASMO is open late and do they sell basic necessities such as toothpaste and sunscreen?

:grouphug:

I would pack an small bag with these items an pick it up. The shops close at 11PM and you won't get to the hotel before that.

Other options: Pack 'banned' items in a Priority Mail box and send it to yourself for $8.10 (any weight, as long as box sides aren't strained AT ALL); you can either send the stuff back to yourself at the end of your trip by pre-printing and -paying the postage online OR just pack it all in your checked luggage; or
Pay attention later today - apparently the TSA is going to announce new/changed (maybe even relaxed?) restrictions late this morning.

That's a great idea for anyone who lives in the US but we're in Europe. I could order stuff at drugstore.com or walgreens and have it delivered that day. Great idea thank you ! Will watch TSA site all day and if I see something I will post here for others in the same situation. Thanks again :thumbsup2

Isn't it 'funny' how items that are safe to bring aboard in Europe aren't allowed to land in the United States  ? At any rate - especially if you're staying onsite (because I don't know the policies of offsite properties), try to arrange delivery a day or few before you arrive.
