ME for Our Bags/we take rental car?

We signed up for ME a while back and have received luggage tags. We are doing WDW + cruise. I just found a great car rental deal for all 10 days that beats out the happy limo price to/from PC even when I add on parking, we come out ahead.

Can I still use the ME luggage tags on our two large bags and send them ahead to the resort even though we now will be headed there via rental car?

I think this used to be okay but want to be sure nothing has changed.
