I swear I just read a trip report and the person said they were able to send there luggage on the bus but not actually take the bus back to the airport.

I am traveling with my 2 kids alone in May and we are staying onsite. I am getting a rental car though.

Can you still send your luggage ME but not ride??!?

While you can't use it on your way to WDW, you can use the luggage service to check your luggage and get your boarding passes for your return home. This is called RAC. This is available to all guest who are flying on a participating airline. We have used this service more than 25 times now and it is the best perk ever. We also rent a car and don't use the DME service at all. It is basically "curb side" service located at the resort. There are some rules and guidelines, like you have to allow 3 hours in order to use it. (If it opens at 5:30AM, your flight can't be before 8:30AM). It also closes at 1:00PM (I think). I always use it around 9:00AM myself, so don't really know the regular hours. You can either take your luggage or have bell service take your luggage to the RAC desk and show your ID and get your boarding passes printed. The BAGs employees will weight and tag your luggage. You tip them just the same as you would for curb side at the airport, and you won't see your luggage again until you get to your home airport.

Very good info for OP.

OP, you don't even sign up for DME. RAC is totally separate. Some folks have said they want to use DME for their inbound trip and that is a whole different topic that is restricted to being discussed in this thread.....http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2015788

Here is something that just crossed my mind. Does the RAC desk know you are staying on site? I have stayed on site many times, but have never been able to use RAC since I fly an airline that doesn't participate. What is to stop someone who stays off site from driving to a Disney Resort and using RAC? Just curious.

I've done that my last 2 trips. I had a rental car but checked the luggage for Delta at Boardwalk. Was much easier than dragging the luggage from the rental garage. Only works on the way out of Disney.

We don't drag our luggage from the garage we do curb side check in. We drive up drop off our bags then go return the car. We usually leave before RAC opens so they are really not an option. Also by doing it this way I have a more peace of mind knowing it is atleast at the airport.

They require showing your KTTW card.

I have never been asked for my KTTW card and as I mentioned I've used the RAC service over 25 times now. I always wondered if they knew you were a WDW guest. But when staying at the BLT and BCV on the last couple of trips, I was asked what my room number was.

Then the cops are down your back for having the car parked curbside.

I've never been asked for that.
