ME Check-in

I have read threads about how ME arrivals seem to get into the checked system sooner in the day. I am not worried about early check in since we are arriving in the afternoon. I am traveling with a young child and am wondering if it is better for one member of our party to take ME while the others pick up the car and drive.

Has anyone done this or is it overkill?

wasn't true for us in OCT. none of our rooms were ready till after 3 pm on a Sunday and we got in before noon on DME.

If you don't expect it then you won't be disappointed.
remember rooms don't need to be ready till 4 pm check-in

If your already renting a car, I think it would be silly to do ME, just my opinion, I don't think it makes a difference.

When you check in at MCO with ME, they notify your resort that you are on your way. This "should" help with assigning rooms. We have use ME 3 times and our rooms have always been ready when we arrived at the resort.

I would have everyone take ME, and get the car on site at Disney. You will save the 9.8% airport tax, and save the drive to and from the airport.

It's often cheaper to rent at the airport as opposed to onsite. Compare rental rates before deciding.

I think I will just drive in from MCO. The only reason I asked was because I thought maybe this was a hidden secret. DVC seems so mysterious to me. I know there is no such thing as a WDW trip but I am trying to make it as easy as possible since I bought sight unseen.

We certainly did not get into our room early. Our room on arrival was not ready until 430. Then again arriving on December 27 might have been part of that...

Just curious. Did you use ME wont be at the resort untill 5pm so I did not mean early s in am but if there was large groups at check in.
