ME check-in

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, I tried to find it using the search option and well, you know how that goes sometimes

I read in a trip report that you don't need to check-in at the ME desk before getting in line for your resort specific bus. Is this true? When we took our first trip in Sept '08 we did check in first, but in Aug '09 we rented a car. Anyone have an answer for me? Thanks..

You need to GO TO THE LINE. You may be able to 'check in' at the greeting podium, or you may be directed to the Welcome Center line/counter. But you can't just take yourself right to the bus line.

Be sure to have all of your paperwork out for the CM to check and to get you in the correct line

I am at the world now and I used ME today, when you get to the welcome center there are cast members directing you if you have your DME booklet they direct you to the podiums at the bus lines where they scan your book and send you to a bus line if you don't have your booklet then you get sent to the desks to get your voucher printed. This is how it has worked the last 4 times I used DME.

All the times we have used ME there was no way to get to the lines without stoping and checking in. They even have a CM standing there to make sure that you have checked in. They are supper fast and as long as you have your paper work out and ready ( I always pull this out of our bag while we are waitng for others to get off the plane).

Up until my last trip, in Dec, I always had to go to the counter and check in. But, that took about 5-10 mins. Only one time did it take longer than that and that time was also in early Dec when the Pop Warner teams/families were arriving...that time it took 25 mins. But, in Dec we were directed right to the bus lines, where our vouchers were scanned.
It is nice to bypass the counter, but it only saves about 5-10 mins.

If they just pass you thru if you have your booklet, do they still ask how many pieces of luggage you checked? Or they dont do that if you dont wait in the line?
