on my carry on I planned on bringing sunscreen, liquid tylenol etc. now with the bann I will have to check it in. WE are using ME I am afraid I will not be able to get to our sunscreen or other liquids LOL anytime soon after landing. can I go to the luggage claim area and just get my "essentials" bag? would this hold us up a lot for getting on the ME bus :confused3

you would have to wait for the planes luggage to come off. why dont you ship a box to the hotel. or by a small bottle when you get there. good luck

i plan to ship a box of toiletries to my resort, and I'll plan to have it arrive a day or two before I do, so I can call to confirm they have it before I fly.

If you do choose to pack a piece of checked luggage with "essentials" that you will want to claim before getting to the DME bus, you can do that. Just make sure that bag does NOT have the yellow DME tag on it. Any bags that have a yellow DME tag will NOT make it to baggage claim.

The way DME is supposed to work, you will not delay anyone other than yourself. You are not assigned to an exact bus. Rather, you check in and are told which bus queue to get in. You just wait in line for the next bus. In other words, it's not like there's a driver with a list of names who is holding the bus waiting for you to show up. But WOW, on behalf of all other passengers, thanks for being so considerate!!! :goodvibes

I read one report (on another board) of a family that had one person go to baggage claim to get luggage while everyone else boarded the bus, and the family had the nerve as well as the powers of persuasion to get the driver to hold up the bus (and everyone else on it) while they waited for the errant family member who was delayed about 20 minuts by baggage claim. I'll bet that driver was not supposed to do that.

yes I am liking the idea of shipping a box beforehand. I already planned on shipping 2 cases of h20 from staples. I can just see it now the staff at CR saying yup another package for the you know who family

When we took the ME the luggage truck arrived just after the bus. You could wait a while then check with bellservices to see if your luggage has arrived. You then can ask them for your bag and give it back to them when you take out what you need. They then will deliver the bags when your room is ready. I was able to take things out of my bags before they were delivered to our room. Luggage arrived at the hotel way before our room was ready. Luggage was at bellservices.

I planned on just grabbing one bag sans yellow tags at baggage claim and taking it on the bus with me. Since my ME tags have not arrived (Leave Tue), I will probably just grab all my bags and have them stowe dunder the bus. Problem solved...i hope!

I'm a BIG fan of DME, but in all fairness I'd have to say that your experience was probably pretty exceptional, having the luggage truck arrive just after your bus did. I wouldn't count on that happening too often. It's wonderful if it does, but it just isn't something to count on happening.
