ME and Baggage ?

If you have used the luggage tags and then for some reason you don't check in at the desk, I have medical issues that sometimes cause problems at airports, anyway if you don't check in do they remove your luggage from transporting it? in other words do they check the roster of who has checked in against the bags they have collected? or do they just collect and transport it whether you have checked in or not?

From what I understand your luggage will still show up where it needs to. BUT, if they dont know you are checked in and there is an issue with your bags, they will have no idea to be searching for your bags. Also, and this is a debated issue, ME isnt supposed to be just a luggage transfer, so are you not planning on using the ME for your transportation?

There are people that use it for luggage transfer only, but if WDW sees that all they are doing is being a luggage transfer service they may discontinue or start charging for ME. Although I believe they will start charging for it at some point.

I am planning on taking the bus but I may have a medical issue when I arrive, never know till I get off the plane that would mean I would need to lie flat for a period of time and that means going in rental car with husband. I just want to be sure if it comes to that that the luggage will still get to the resort, I don't need to have a medical situation to deal with AND no luggage show up.
I always try to pack my carryon with everything I would need to make it through the trip if NO luggage showed up but that is worst case scenario.

Any other responses on this? I really need to know if I don't check in at DME or if I check in but then cannot go on the bus will my bags still make it to the hotel?
I don't want to have to deal with the medical complications, get to the hotel and then find that the bags never do arrive and are sitting at the airport and I have to go back to get them.

This probably won't end up happening, the medical thing, but it has in the past and it could so I want to be sure at least the bags would still get there if it does.

In all probability your bags will get to your resort with no problems. This can tend to become a heated subject...so, I will say again, your bags will most likely be fine without you being on the bus. Now, I am going to shut this one down before we get into yet another debate on this.
