I finally decided to make the reservation and stop second guesing myself. I ended up reserving a Chevy Uplander (or similar is says). We'll pick it up on Friday morning (22nd) so I can pack and we'll return it the 2nd of July so 11 days. Total with tax is $475, unlimited miles.

One piece of advice..Get an enertainment book! You can use an coupon from them and get it down to $368 and change. That's 11 days with Alamo. Mousesavers has a link that you can get the entertainment book for 50% off. It's worth it. I didn't check any other codes, you may be able to get it close to that without the entertainment book though.

Plug in all those coupon codes in various combinations. Check out mousavers, it gives you a whole list of them to try..for all different rental companies.

Try Dollar as well. Use Kiss2 and that should also give you a good rate.

is that coupon in the orlando book? we're driving from Mass but if it's in our book I'll buy one tomorrow!! I did use a contract id with a rate code and a coupon from mousesavers. It's the extra days that's killing us...the week is $292 but then it's 48.83 a day for 3 more days...

For once, I think we hit the jackport. I am renting a minivan from Dollar. Picking up June 22 in the morning and returning July 1 late evening. We are picking up at the Cincinnati Northern KY airport. Our rate for those 10 days with tax is $297.00 with unlimited miles. I checked the rates yesterday and they are almost $200.00 higher now for the same dates. We rarely ever get lucky in my family but I have to say... I think this time we did!
