Hi all,
I was wondering if you could help me get a table for 4 in the MDRs that will allow my family to actually see the shows at AP? On our last few cruises we have been seated at table 19 which is in the middle of the AP dining room. This makes it impossible to see the shows and very difficult to figure out what monitors to watch during the Animators show in order to see your drawings. Got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Have the request for a "table on the outside of the room in Animator's Palate" placed on your reservation. You can go to where the dining changes are handled once onboard, and see if you got that, and, if not, see if they can move you.

Also, don't request a specific table number as the numbers may not be the same from one cruise to the next.

We had a table for 4 on The Fantasy last year that was right near the screen, it was in the very back of the restaurant. There was a back entrance into the restaurant right there where the table was, it was a great location.

Correct. That's why I suggested just asking for one on the outside.
Just wanted to put it out there that they may not be in the same place every cruise since the OP mentioned they had the same table number on a couple of cruises.

One one of our cruises, the CM that was seating us the first night had to ask where the table was because it was not where is was on the cruise that just ended.

It is sounds like the service team did not provide very good information for which screen to look at.

Thanks everyone for all the info! I didn't realize the table numbers were flexible. Like I said, the last 3 times we've cruised on the Fantasy we've had the same table number in the same locations. I am going to go ahead and follow your advice before I pay my upcoming cruise off in a couple of weeks.

See you all in November!

Honestly it wouldn't have mattered. We were so far away from them we couldn't see anything anyway. As far as the waitstaff informing us where to look, the assistant waiter did point us to the right ones about half way through the presentation! Ugh!

Since this is basically the same topic... I'll post here.

I'm doing my first cruise in May. 4 night. We have the late dining time and on the wait list for early dining (our kids are 9,7 & 1).

To see the Animators Palate show during dinner, should I call and have a CM make a note on the account now? Or wait till we board? I have no clue how this works! Thanks. :)

You will have the AP show as part of the regular dining rotation. You will rotate through all 3 of the main dining rooms. Since you are on a 4-night, you will eat in one of the MDRs twice (once with the regular rotation menu, pirate menu on the second time).

On a 4 night cruise the "show" in Animator's Palate is not the Animation Magic show. But there is a show.

On our first cruise, our server switched our table with another b/c they were frequent cruisers he had served before. He told them he had a family (two families) and asked if they would switch tables. They agreed. We didn't even know about this until we showed up on our first night at AP and he walked in and moved the two numbers and told us he upgraded our table. We didn't even know about the shows and didn't know to ask.

On our second cruise, we arrived in EG the 2nd night and we were at a different table that the 1st (same number - just different table). We were confused and they said a server was sick, other people were covering so they moved people around to make it easier on them.

All that being said - no guarantees but it doesn't hurt to ask as they definitely are flexible even on different nights of moving table assignments around when needed.

I also advise to be a little early or at least on time. If you end up sharing a table with another family, they can position themselves in the more advantageous viewpoint despite the servers clearly placing the children's cups in certain places in order to make all happy........We are always on time but the last time we sailed, our seat mates were late every time except for AP and that time they were super early; it was clear they had a mission to stage themselves. If you are late, the servers can not sync themselves perfectly and it throws everything off too.......
