Our dining rotation is RRAERAE. Does that mean we will be offered the same menu for both nights one and two as we’re in Royal Court each of those two nights? Does every MDR offer the same menu on Captain’s Gala Night (aka Lobster Night!)? TIA for your response.

Probably first R will be a welcome menu - like let the magic begin or something similar OR your pirate night will be early and on the second R and then the rest will be the two sets of dinner rotations. It’s 7 nights so I think usually 2- 3 day rotations and one pirate.

You'll have a different menu every night. I believe every restaurant has 2 main menus now (with Captains Gala, Prince and Princess, and Til we meet again as the second menus), so Captains Gala would be different nights for people you'd also have a pirate menu--that one is the same for everyone.

So the way the dining works is that every theme night, like the Captains Gala, all 3 dining rooms get the same menu. For the non theme nights, you will get whatever menu is standard to that dining room. You will only get each menu once per cruise.

This might be a good thread for my basic question - what might the rotation look like for 5 nights on the Magic? And if we book a Palo dinner, does that change anything? TIA!

You will most likely have your last night at the same restaurant as your first night and then repeat one of the other ones in the middle. So, A,B,C,C,A type of rotation. You booking Palo has no bearing on your rotation and you will just miss whatever main dining menu for the night that you book Palo for.

Usually when you get to the port. I think that concierge can get theirs ahead of time.
They can’t know for sure in advance their rotation, but they can get a list of the three available ones and request a specific rotation. We’ve never had that request denied.

You never repeat menus on a DCL cruise. Each restaurant will have its signature menu and then all of other menus will be available at all of the restaurants on the same night. I've been on several 14 night Panama Canal cruises and we had a different menu each night. Cruise location depends a lot on which menus you will experience.

Now when you do multiple cruises over many years, the menus will be basically the same since DCL hasn't made major menu changes for years.....

There isn't usually a welcome night menu on 7 night cruises, so my best guess is Pirates night will be night 2. If you have your rotation then you should be on the ship and be able to look at all the menus.

Am appreciating everyone's replies! Actually our Pirate Night is scheduled for night 4. Won't be on the ship until December...

Well in that case your main dining rotation menus will be the last 3 nights (Only way I can make sense of it). Now for the first 4 nights Should be a combination of Prince & Princess, Captains Gala, Animation Magic and Pirates. Even that is weird because usually, the animation magic is the second time at Animators.

This is not correct anymore. The only night on a 7-night cruise that is the same in all dining rooms is Pirates night (or Frozen in Alaska). The other 6 nights each dining room has its own menu. Longer cruises you have again additional nights that are the same ship wide. That was a change at some point.

So, lobster night is now always your second (non-Pirates-night) time in Royal Palace/Court, Triton’s and Lumiere’s. It usually does not coincide with The Captain’s Reception in Formal.

This just doesn’t make sense with anything we know from previous experiences. Usually you are in the dining room that you have three times for pirates night. I assume that you are sailing concierge and that’s how you know your Dining rotation. Maybe ask again yo verify it. It could be that pirate’s night was moved and they hadn’t adjusted the rotation yet?

That was the case on our recent cruise. People in concierge had reported that we had an ERAERAE rotation. Which would make sense with Pirates night on day 4. Where it was originally scheduled. But then they moved it to day 5. And we did have ERAEERA rotation.

Well that has to be a nightmare for the kitchens. LOL

Sorry, re-read posts. But curious, how do you know rotation 6 months in advance?

If you are talking about what your specific rotation will be, you don't. You can request a certain rotation but you don't know what you are assigned until you get there. For the general rotations, they post them on the Disney Cruise Blog.

I had called Disney to request that they link my family's four staterooms together for dining and then I had asked if the CM could perhaps assign us a rotation that would put us in Royal Court on New Year's Eve. She said no problem and then told me our specific full rotation for that. Guess I was just lucky and was speaking with someone who was extra nice! Pixie dust, right?

Ah! The New Years Eve is most likely the cause for the unusual rotation! Is that on night 2 of the cruise? My guess is that you will have a special New Years Eve menu and they will skip the Pirates Night menu for your cruise.
