MDE ticket split stay family

So, I arrive a few days before my DH, I am staying at ASMU,when he arrives,we move to the Dolphin- so I need to link our tickets in MDE to get FP+, how does this work? I will input for myself and DH, what does his link to? essentially both reservations? or just the res/ when he arrives? or do I start making FP+ for him on the same date as my arrival? (he doesn't need them then, but wondering how the heck this works)
