MDE Ticket Question (6day + 1 5pm+ ticket)

So we are staying off property for the first time (going as a BIG family trip and rented a house).

Anyway, each of us have a paper 6day Base Ticket and then a paper 5pm+ plus ticket that Had a lot of extra from work, and the plan was to use the 5pm+ ticket on arrival day sine we don't get there till 3pm anyway, but my question is, when i add them to DME, each ticket show up correctly (Each person having their 6day tickets, and then each person having there 5pm+ 1day ticket), but when we get to the park on that first day, at lets say 5:05PM, and we swipe our magic bands (each linked to each person), do we have to specify which ticket we want to use that day? I would hate to lose one of my full day tickets from the 6day ticket instead of the 5pm+ ticket.

Is there anything to do, or is their system smart enough to know to use the 5pm+ ticket if we are arriving after 5pm for the first time?

Swing by guest services before tapping into the park and ask that they either prioritize your tickets or separate your 5 pm tickets onto actual tickets and enter with those.

The 5pm tickets are actual tickets (printed on plastic Disney Cards), but i need to use the numbers to make my FastPass selections which is why i had to enter them into DME if that helps.

If you want to avoid the trip to guest services, just use the plastic tickets that first day to enter the park and for FPs that day. Don't use the magic bands until you are ready to use the multiday tickets.

That doesn't matter. Your FP+ reservations aren't tied to a specific ticket. The fact that you already have the 5 pm tickets on a plastic card has saved you time, use those to enter and to tap at the FP+ entrances.

This won't prevent the wrong ticket from being used since multiple tickets are linked to MDE. Once a ticket is linked to MDE, the card it was originally issued on is no longer linked directly to that ticket.

They still need to stop and have the tickets prioritized prior to park entry.

Ah, I didn't think about that. But you're correct. Once the ticket is no longer standalone, it does need to be prioritized.

So they are able to prioritize if I stop at Guest Services before I enter though? They will be able to set it up so that I can enter and use that ticket instead of the full day one? If thats true, not to big of a deal, just budget in 15 or so extra min.

Yep. Just stop by Guest Relations prior to entering a park and they can prioritize the tickets in the order you want them to be used in.
