MDE Linking Multiple Tickets Per Person

I could have sworn I read something that said linking multiple tickets shouldn't be done for one person in regard to park tickets and special event tickets, but I can't find it here or on the WDW site.

I had linked our MNSSHP tickets before I read this and then called to add park tickets. The park tickets were automatically linked, and when I asked if that was okay, the CM said we should be fine.

So am I going to have issues with my MB's and tickets? Can I use the MNSSHP green-card-tickets, rather than the MB to enter the party, even though they are linked to my MB to avoid issues?

Am I making up reading that this would be an issue?

I saw a post somewhere from Cheshire Figment saying NOT to link special event tickets. You have to get a party wristband when you enter, you can't use magic bands.

Found it:

So, what do you do if the MNSSHP tix were automatically added to MDE when they were purchased? That's what mine did. But, on the paperwork with the hard ticket, it clearly states that you must have the ticket to attend the party. You have the option to deactivate the MNSSHP card, but then you'll have to remember to reactivate it before the party.

The email that someone posted did not specifially say that it would be a problem, the tone of the email was more that customers should be discouraged from doing it because they still have to present a hard ticket for entry. I translated that to mean that Disney is worried that if you link an MNSSHP ticket, you will assume it is attached to your MB, and thus not bring your hard ticket.

I've also read in numerous places that MNSSHP tix will not attach to MB.

How confusing!!

I saw the same thread you mentioned and agree that the purpose of the Hub posting seems aimed at avoiding problems where people don't have the physical ticket to show for party wristbands. One line seems to imply that Magicbands might work for entry too, which would just multiply that issue.

The main problem I've seen reports of from 2 tickets on one MB/account is the system using days from the incorrect ticket - using the physical MNSSHP ticket to enter the party seems like it would eliminate that risk. We'll know more after the parties start Tues since buying online also linked them automatically - between phone and internet orders, there's going to be a LOT of guinea pigs ;)

Thanks ssreward!

I planned to take the green-hardticket to the party in fear that it would count towards our non-hopping park days.

*squeak squeak* I don't mind being a guinea pig, I just hate being discouraged from doing something with no direction of how to correct the action if you already did it. It seems kinda silly that "the-powers-that-be" would even allow you link multiple tickets/experiences. Ah, guess that's just the life of the guinea pig! *squeak squeak* :-)

Glad I'm not the only one who interpreted it like that. The original post was leaning toward fear mongering and stirring up non existent trouble if you ask me. :stir::sad2:

Sorry, it wasn't my intention to stir the pot.

I saw another post saying to be sure to keep your magic band away from the entrance readers when entering the party, it could accidentally take a day off your MYW.

Oh! No, no, no, you were not the pot stirrer!!! Sorry if it sounded like that. I meant the OP of the other thread that a couple of us referenced on here.

So sorry for any confusion!

Thought this might be the best place to ask...

We have one day left on our 2014 Military Salute tickets we purchased last winter that expire at the end of September. We also have linked our 10-Day Magic Your Way Ticket-NoExp tickets on MDE, as we approach our trip (FP+) to the WDW in early September so I ask...

I assume that first day of our trip when we go thru the turnstile with our MagicBands it'll take off the remaining day from our MST - correct? And then subsequently move to our MYWT after that? Just curious if the system is smart enough to recognize that or not?

That post was also from Sept of last year (2013) and a LOT has changed with the magic bands since then. I always carry the hard ticket with me when I attend an event.
I have an AP so I never thought about making sure the magic band reader is taking the hard ticket event off when scanned and not a regular days ticket.....that is certainly something to be concerned about.
I am going with my son and his family in September and we are attending the MNSSHP so I will make sure they take the hard ticket and scan that when entering the park just to be sure.
