MDE, FP+ and Stars & Stripes Tickets

Hoping to find some help & insight into the ridiculous confusion that is now FP+.

This is our 3rd year in a row, we will be there early April. Since we all own at WBC we stay there (group of 6 adults 1 child). My Grandfather is a Retired Veteran, so we also get the Stars & Stripes tickets.

So we just got our stars & stripes vouchers in the mailand I've linked them to my MDE account. I know we still have to turn them in and have the RFID cards activated upon arrival. Do I need a resort reservation to make FP+ selections right now? I've read where people have FP+ selections on their vouchers then they were transferred to the RFID cards. I've ALSO considered making a ghost ressie at CW in order to book FP+ early as well? would that work with the vouchers ?

Sorry for any confusion but I'm confused too. Trying to eliminate the confusion at the parks and do it early I guess.

I'm pretty sure you can use the number on your voucher to link to MDE. We chose to skip the military tickets as it just wasn't enough park time for us, but they are such a great deal, aren't they? military disney tips on facebook should be able to help you out if no one here can confirm what I told you.
