MDE down for anyone else?

I love it when you do that always makes me LMAO.

Hope they get it back up soon, especially for those that are there trying to have a vacation.
 
Wonder if the outage is affecting magic band charging/paying or room/park entry in anyway.

If you are still there (or someone else is), I'd love to know why the paper FP (so I can brace for this situation)? Is it for people who didn't book FP+ in advance and/or didn't print them out? And/or for the 4th and later FP+?

Just curious how it works. Also, did you receive an email on your smartphone/iDevice telling you there's a problem? (I didn't have a wifi/phone with me the past 2 trips, and would learn when I got back the resort at night that I could have used a FP+ I booked for 7DMT for other things (because I didn't have email access except in my hotel room)).

I don't know why they are handing them out. They are handing hundreds of them to the masses. What's the point of a fastpass if everybody has 20 of them? We did not get any message or email. We found out because I wanted to check which ones I had and for what time, and nobody knows.

I'm not there, but I'm guessing with the system down, FP+ data is unavailable in the parks either. Printing out your personal FP+ times in this case may be worthless if they are just giving paper FPs for people to use. They likely aren't bothering to look at printed FP+ reservations. Sounds like a pretty good mess.

MDE web site and app are down for me. I have worked in IT for almost 20 years, and if we ever had outages like Disney does, heads would roll.

I cannot understand how a company of this size has such a seemingly hapless, bumbling group in charge of its public-facing technology.

Besides the MDE problems this week, I have had to report missing photos from our Memory Maker EVERY SINGLE DAY. Some have eventually turned up, but those we wanted most (Space Mountain, Splash, and Summit Plummet) are nowhere to be found. It's inexcusable to have these ongoing "glitches".
 
Some fast pass check points at ride entrances can tell you when you next fast pass+. Toys Story Mania could not. Muppet vision 3d could.

Charging with Magic Band seems to work. I see people using it.

We could not buy Olaf limited magic band. They could not link them to an account.
Some were having success linking with cards instead of bands.

We go see Tampa Bay play tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully everything will be sorted by to tomorrow evening.

Ugh - I never thought of that: printed FP+ might not save the day (even if they were to honor them, if they are handing out tons of paper FP it negates the short FP+ lines I'd be expecting).

I guess my kids will (further) learn the life lessons of patience and things don't always go as expected!
 
I had issues with it last night, it would show some of my plans but not all. I also had issues with the MDE iPhone app yesterday, it was acting if I didn't even have an account! Of course it had to happen right as I stumbled upon a really hard to get ADR!

It is affecting some things. I just left dhs. FP+ is working for ride returns. But you can't make any new fp reservations at the kiosks. They are sending ppl to one of three areas to arrange a fp. I think I heard the cm say for a paper fp.

While I'm not happy to see the app down, I'm glad to know it's not just me! Everything is gone in the MDE app for me right now...headless Olafs everywhere! I'm hoping this is rectified soon! :confused3 :worried:
 
My MDE at home just came back on for a minute. I could actually see my reservations and tickets. Now nothing again.

Ha! Did anyone doubt that the ability to purchase would be the one system with multiple redundancy!!!!!
 
It's interesting to know what their contingency plan consists if. It's apparent from the pic of handing out paper FPs via kiosks with ride names on them that they have some sort of plan in place. Though guests are likely freaked out that their electronic plans (via the MDE app) are inaccessible. For me, I would relay on the tech to remind me those notes and dining reservations I've secured in advance. I'm not a big planner but I now know to at least screenshot my app so I can see my notes (things to remind me I'd like to do) and dining reservation times (important). Other than the disappointment of smooth use of FP I would do everything I could not to get mad and spoil my magically trip. Though, my perspective might be different as I'm a local annual pass holder. I'm sure those heavy planners 180/60 day out for 10 days of magic for 8 family members for that extra special (and expensive) trip are more frustrated and disappointment.
