This may not seem to be a helpful piece of advice but really, it is if you choose to take it so, when it comes to the
MDE app, the only way to deal with it is to not use it.
What you're complaining about is the same sort of issues that everyone has had with it from the beginning. It's a nice idea of Disney's but it's a flop in execution. I thank the lord for the Dis, so I did not change my touring style at all the way Disney encourages you to, by relying on their faulty app for all your info and schedule.
I have stuck to what works - Paper. And myself. I know I can rely on myself and keeping track of my schedule and reservations that I have written down on paper - I have never once lost the paper I have written or typed my itinerary on. I am far from anti-digital or anti-internet - I use it in my life and have replaced many of the former ways of doing things, but it all comes down to if the technology works and is efficient. The MDE app is neither. And yes, I am sure many will come to it's defense and talk about how it worked great on their vacation. But all the others who say it hasn't. What that equals to is UNRELIABILITY. And that is the one totally unacceptable factor in a piece of technology or equipment or internet app. I will not change how I do things if the potential perks of the change do not outweigh the risk of it's reliability.
No thank you. So my advice is to write your itinerary on paper and keep it safe and forget this app business till Disney sorts it out which I'm starting to think will be never.
