MDE and Luggage Fees

I've read that they collect your luggage fees at the resort when you check your bags for DME. however, we don't owe luggage fees due to my husband's frequent flyer status. Does anyone know how that works? Will I need to bring something to prove we don't owe the fees?

Our plan will be to check out of the room early and leave our luggage with the bell desk while we tour the parks fora half day, or check them to DME early in the morning if it's possible to do that early on departure day.

I have always had to show my Delta AmEx card to demonstrate that my luggage fees are waived. I just show it to the BAGS folks and they take my luggage. They'll start with a number of questions included "have you paid your luggage fee?" They've always been very efficient about this. Not sure what you'll have to show, but it seems that it would be in the airline's system.

Also, I don't believe that BAGS accepts collects payment for the bag fee. People who owe fees would need to pay those in advance -- by phone or electronically -- directly to the airline. Maybe someone can correct me on that.

That's very helpful, thank you! It sounds like he can just show his frequent flyer status card then.
